Our site is too slow.
There are 3 advice in a report we received from WooRank how to speed it up.
It says: inline styles (dont use inline styles), too many CSS files (more than 4), and too many Javascript files (more than 7).
It also says speed it has a huge effect on SEO. Anyone knows how to solve it/remove or replace with something better? We are using Agency Theme.
Appreciate some insight on this.
Thanks

Your site has a LOT of plugins. Plugin authors often have CSS skills that aren't great, so they get lazy and use inline styles. [Did I say that?] So this is very hard to get rid of, unless you start uninstalling plugins. This also relates to having lots of javascript files. Plugin authors love using them, although more and more plugins are being changed to only use the stock jQuery, for instance. But again, if you have lots of plugins, then you're stuck with many Javascript files, generally speaking. But none of the above necessarily makes your site slow. A Facebook Like box practically guarantees occasional slowness - if FB loads slowly, so does your page. That scrolling thing might slow you down a bit, too, but not sure.
I ran a test on your page here and it came out pretty good! So maybe all is well.

Thank you so much for the answer. Yes, it looks like the Woorank seo report might had an error - saying the site is slow. On your "recommended" test site it scores 91/100 which is probably not bad. I did disabled the scroll news and a few plugins and will continue doing that. Thanks for your advice - without those I wouldn´t have known

Great! Not that I'm cynical at all, but I wonder if Woorank may be exaggerating a little to get more business. 😉 I also thought they must be connected to Woo Themes, but it appears not to be.Your site runs fast for me, too. It looks very good! The only thing I'm a little dubious about: the normal Agency almost invisible grey menu links. 🙂

April 17, 2013 at 12:15 pm #35981TonjeMemberThank you Dave. I should be more sceptic to test ranking in the future. I will just let the plugins be on our site then, since the speed is good.
To the other advice of the "invisible" menu: I did get the same feedback from to other independent people, so I will definetly change that. I posted a request below the "showcase" to see if someone can assist me to make it more visible. Not sure what the best will be (white, not hoover or other things) and of course I dont know how to do it 🙁
regards
Tonje
