I want to edit the site name on the tab title (while keeping the site title intact on the header) and a Google search implies there is a SEO setting module within Genesis — but I don’t have such a thing.

If there’s a different way to accomplish this, e.g. a custom function, let me know?

    I’m running Genesis 2.0.1 and WordPress 3.7.1.

I am a storyteller. I moved my blog from Thesis to Genesis in April 2013. I’m still learning.

When you’re running a third party SEO plugin, the Genesis SEO settings won’t show up. This allows people to choose whether they want to use Genesis SEO or not. If you deactivate All in One SEO, you’ll have the Genesis SEO settings available in your dashboard.
