Brad I replied to your last post Sept 26th not heard back from you?
JennySeptember 30, 2013 at 8:01 pm #64885Brad DaltonParticipantHi Jenny.
I have written about this several times providing several solutions which i have tested.
Here's another solution you may wish to try http://wpsites.net/web-design/custom-header-images-with-a-default/
What stage are you up to as far as implementing any of these solutions?
October 4, 2013 at 6:46 pm #65409JennyLonMemberHi Brad
many thanks for taking this back up with me- and getting back to me. Where I am on this is, well a little confused at to placement of code i.e. where to specifically place the code ....I looked at your instructions in the latest link http://wpsites.net/web-design/custom-header-images-with-a-default/In there it said your function php file hence so do I paste this at the top OR at the bottom etc? of this file?
Right now there is various bunch of code for the header image in the themes STYLE sheet where it appears on every page next question, so what do I specifically do to that - anything?
Do I need to delete anything there , change anything etc?
If you can kindly guide me on that Great ....and I think the plugin you mentioned Advanced Custom Fields plugin and copy the settings looks easy so hopefully can try this and will use it to apply and have different headers for different PAGES using the plugin by the looks of things . Oh and they will all same size anyway.
3rd Question I am happy with the existing home page header image to be still applied to the home page how do I keep that for home page and maybe several others?
look forward to hearing back
Jenny

In there it said your function php file hence so do I paste this at the top OR at the bottom etc? of this file?
Paste the PHP code at the end of your child themes functions.php file using a text editor like Notepad++
October 14, 2013 at 5:59 pm #66727JennyLonMemberHi Brad
thanks for where to place the code I also asked though:

October 16, 2013 at 3:42 pm #67076JennyLonMemberBrad please resond to my last message
thanks
JennyOctober 16, 2013 at 9:27 pm #67106Brad DaltonParticipantAll the steps are detailed in the tutorial Jenny.
Using custom fields is not the only way to add different header images on different pages and posts. The WP Display Header plugin is a far easier solution.

Keep trying to ask you the code you mentioned gets applied to to the php function sheet.... BUT also right now there is still a whole bunch of code applied already to my THEME style sheet for my heading which right now is on every page ...
so what do I specifically do to that –
Keep it, ignore it or change anything?please let me know
thanks
JennyOctober 18, 2013 at 2:14 am #67282Brad DaltonParticipantThe PHP code goes in the child themes functions file and the CSS in the style.css file
October 18, 2013 at 11:52 am #67365JennyLonMemberBrad,,again sorry you are not making yourself clear to me in what I specifically asked ( I am a complete nob at all this code and what you have to do) I simply need to know/clarify is
-
once I add the code to the functions file
WHAT about the existing header image code et that is already in my style sheet ...do I simply leave it as it is
-
and no need to now change that
or do anything indeed to it?
October 22, 2013 at 2:35 pm #68276JennyLonMemberBrad I will repost on this as clearly you are not able to reply to my question and busy or something.....
Indeed actually tried to ask exactly same thing three times actually but just not getting anywhere i.e. any existing code in the theme Style sheet about the header that has always been there - do I simply leave that no need to change anything etc once I add the code to the function file?OH well....
October 23, 2013 at 6:00 am #68395Brad DaltonParticipantIf you're referring to one of the posts on my website, please ask me any question you like on that specific post in the comments of that post.
The post explains exactly what to do step by step.
October 23, 2013 at 8:17 am #68422JennyLonMemberBrad....please this such a simple question to reply yes or no to why am I finding almost 4 weeks later having to ask again and again please just reply all I am asking is (again... do I keep same old code on my style sheet to do with the image header or not ONCE I have added to my function file the code you gave HERE on this post to me.
I am a retired MD and and it is a simple question surely -The two sentence you replied to above you could have in the same time said yes, no need to change or delete it or change to xyz ...the fact we ask questions and others learn the answers here on studio press is helpful to everyone.
I really appreciate peoples kindness to reply to folks questions voluntary here on such forums and some may irritate when they don't seem to grasp simple things due to their lack of newbie knowledge that said mine I think it is a simple question clarification is it not?
thankyou
