Hi everyone,
I'm trying to find out if any of the StudioPress themes actually contain a full width header. I'm looking for something that is already part of the theme and not something that requires rewriting the code or installing a plugin. My client is insisting on a full width header that will be replaced with a small logo when viewed on mobile devices. Any ideas?May 13, 2014 at 8:48 pm #105029nutsandboltsMemberAny Genesis child theme can support a full width header image, but as far as I know (looking at the theme list right now) none of them do so without small changes to the code. Replacing the image for mobile would also require some CSS changes. If you're willing to take that on, I'd be glad to point you to some tutorials that will walk you through the changes step by step.
For example, the Lifestyle Pro theme is one people use often with a full width header, and there are several tutorials for making that work:

Hope that helps!

Here is what the header looks like when viewed on a desktop.

I have the logo without the background, that I could use, I'm just not sure how or where to put it in the code to make it work.
Thank you for helping me Andrea.May 14, 2014 at 12:09 pm #105136nutsandboltsMemberOkay, this isn't a terribly difficult fix - you're almost there!
Are you able to post a link to the site? If I can see the CSS, I can help you swap out the logo for mobile.

That would defeat the purpose of using a child theme. It could also be why the edits don't seem to be taking effect.

May 15, 2014 at 5:38 am #105270JGableMemberI made the changes to the style.css but now I get a database connection error whenever I try to visit the site. Could a few css changes screw up the database?
May 15, 2014 at 9:40 am #105322nutsandboltsMemberNo, I'm fairly certain that's not possible. If nothing else, the site would load but look really weird/broken. It's loading okay for me.
