    Hi there,

I am new with the Genesis Framework. A friend of mine has a more or less ‘ugly’ site on the Genesis Framework. We decided that it could use a ‘pimp’ with Prose.

I’ve premade the site on a new install (testdesign) and now need to pimp her site by installing Prose and take the same settings I used in my testdesign.

    I was wondering:
Will her current sidebar widgets stay in the sidebar when I activate the Prose child theme? Or do I need to drag them out the sidebar before activating Prose and drag them back afer activating Prose?

In fact this question is also applicable on other child themes, I am just curious if I do need to take special care of the widgets if site is already built on the Genesis Framework and just needs a child theme.

    Thanks in advance,
    Diane

I think it’s safe to say each Genesis themes had differents functions including the widgets, Each time you activate a new Studiopress themes you will have to do some ajusting according to that theme.

When you switch themes the current widgets should be held below in the widget section or it might say someting like inactive widgets. You should be able to just drag then in to the widgets of your choice.

You can always test out new themes and as long and you don’t make to many changes you can see how things work.

Thanks, indeed they travelled to another widget section but were kept safe.

    Thanks and kind regards,
