I'm using IE 11 for Windows 7. It loads the font for Eleven40 like it should. FireFox is the worst with what looks like an Arial font. Chrome isn't much better. I tried a different computer and my site as well as the demo site do the same thing. Fire Fox and Chrome just look plain.
My issue is that according to Analytics, visitors using IE to view my site have the longest average site duration, the most page views, and the lowest bounce rate. I feel it's because the actual font on the Eleven40 theme is soothing to the eye and easy to read. Fire Fox has the worst stats with Chrome close behind. Is there a fix for this?
afinevoMemberThis is just a bump.
afinevoMemberThank you Andrea, that took care of the problem. I think I will look into WP Super Cache first before importing font to functions.php.

September 13, 2013 at 2:51 pm in reply to: add home featured widgets on every page – Minimum Pro #62358afinevoMemberI just installed a home featured widget for my site and wanted it to show on all pages. When I moved the "**add home featured section*" from home.php to functions.php, the widget was then visible on all pages. Not sure if it will help for you or not, but it worked just fine for the eleven40 theme.
afinevoMemberOK, I feel like a bit of a dweeb for not doing this before, but I solved my problem by selecting an odd number of posts to show. It still doesn't account for why it changed however. I can't replicate the problem on my test site.
I'll leave this post open for a day before I mark it resolved however to see if anyone has a solution to the original problem.
afinevoMemberHi Anitac. I've been using sticky on this site for quite a while now without this issue. It was only after I updated the sticky post that this has happened. I have a test site loaded on my computer as well. Same set up and theme - blog home page with a sticky. It doesn't count the sticky and gives an even number of posts below it.
I did go into CSS and removed the border for the sticky, but I don't see how this would change things.
afinevoMemberI see.... Is there a way to correct that? The logo that I have was a fix which I had learned about here in order to get an image to display properly for the eleven40 theme.
afinevoMemberI had already tried that Anitac - I should have stated that in my OP. When I deactivated it there was no change.
afinevoMemberThanks for your help Brad. I just wasn't sure if it was correct or not.
afinevoMemberOK, I seemed to have figured out how to accomplish what I wanted to do. I moved this:
/** Add the home featured section */
add_action( 'genesis_before_content_sidebar_wrap', 'eleven40_home_featured' );
function eleven40_home_featured() {/** Do nothing on page 2 or greater */
if ( get_query_var( 'paged' ) >= 2 )
return;genesis_widget_area( 'home-featured', array(
'before' => '<div class="home-featured widget-area">',
) );}
from the home.php to the function.php. It now shows on all pages like the page title widget. It's working but I still wonder if it was the correct thing to do?
Thanks
afinevoMemberThanks Brad! The hook position change is exactly what was needed. I wasn't able to implement the conditional tag however. Every time I tried it would reject it with a white screen.
What I decided I would like to do instead though is make this widget available for all pages and posts as well, just like the page title widget. How would I go about doing that? I assume I could work on the conditional tags later if I wish to regulate where I don't want the widget to show.
September 6, 2013 at 4:02 pm in reply to: Eleven 40-Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content #61148afinevoMemberI'm having the same issues as well with eleven40.
afinevoMemberIs there a new link for this? This one returns a 404 and says to check the code snippets page in Studio Press. I couldn't find this in the code snippet section.
Thanks.
afinevoMemberWow.... that's more than what I had bargained for. I will try it out on my test site to see how it works.
afinevoMemberThank you Anitac. I tried it on my test site which has the latest 2.0 updates and it worked like a charm.
afinevoMemberThanks Brad. I was thinking that might be the problem. Do you have a link to any of those articles that you wrote?
Shea
afinevoMemberHi Anitac. Yes, it's an embed code that I am using for the image. If you check this post here, the image at the top of the post is an embedded image or as say an image with an embed code. Yet if you check the home page, the image at the top of the post that I want to show is superseded by the second image that is in the post.
Thanks,
Shea
afinevoMemberI had tried that before I posted Brad and it didn't work. Plus, if I choose the featured image option when I edit the post, it wants me to select and image from the media library.
Any other thoughts?
afinevoMemberThanks so much Colson, you are a lifesaver! That did the trick... I knew it was something that I had removed.
