We've seen some issues in help desk where the layout was broken in Chrome on Windows but not on a Mac. It took two of us to figure out but essentially the sites were hacked. We did confirm it was a hack and not an issue with the theme.
Also, we haven;t yet confirmed it, but it may have been related to this:
http://blog.sucuri.net/2014/01/recent-optmizepress-vulnerability-being-mass-infected.htmlwhich also saw a rise yesterday.

Andrea RennickMemberI know it’s possible to have more than one theme on the same site.
No, it's not possible to activate two themes on one site. WordPress does not support this.
Squeeze pages that have a different look and feel from your site are done with plugins or page-specific css.
(Having WordPress installed in a subdirectory give you 2 WordPress instals - not the same thing.)

Andrea RennickMemberYes and we hear your concerns, which is why I suggested a trip into help desk so we can address it properly. 🙂

Andrea RennickMemberHi Heinz,
We're truly sorry the theme change caused issues. While we do occasionally update the child themes, none of them cause an upgrade notice in the admin area. It is not the intention to upgrade child themes. They are newer updated versions for your next project or the next buyer.
You may notice we are changing names on refreshed themes with the word PRO afterwards.
Widget area content will be moved to the Inactive Widgets box on the widgets screen.
In the cause of Agentpress and the previous version, the screenshots show a different designed theme with different areas of content on the home page.
As well, you can file a ticket on this topic in our help desk - instead of the forums - where we can see it more quickly. These forums are not for official support, they are for the community to help each other with customization issues and general WordPress questions.
If you file a ticket in help desk, we can get you sorted out.

Andrea RennickMemberSo now I have this Photoshop file and a vector file for the new page, and I have no clue how to install it, what the installation would entail, or whom to hire.
Just to clarify, she didn't give you anything to install, she just made a design. It still needs to be coded into a theme. That;s something she should have explained.

Andrea RennickMemberThe Genesis doesn’t allow file editing from inside the admin area like standard wordpress does.
That is incorrect.
If you are on Synthesis, they have turned off the WordPress editor. The base Genesis theme has nothing in it to do this.

Andrea RennickMemberThose are filterable ares that are customizable. Please see the code snippets area in my.studiopress.com for each section.
They are not translated by the plugin or po edit because they are *customizable* so you must do them manually in the functions file.

Andrea RennickMemberYes, Genesis will be able to do that, since each sub site (mapped or not) still has their own authors.
You can use multisite to host multiple clients. It is more advanced, however, just like nutsandbolts pointed out.
Peruse http://wpmututorials.com for a bit and see if you;d be comfortable with those kinds of tasks. (Yes that is my old site).

Andrea RennickMemberOr set up your own demo site? 😉
Also - you need to be CLEAR with clients that if they do not purchase the theme from us, we will not support them.
We do get a fair number of tickets from people who thought they had a "legit" copy after their developer has moved on, and they needed support.
Which we cannot give them because they did not buy from us.

Andrea RennickMemberThat's more of a workaround.
Here's a ticket for Chrome showing the issues exists across platforms, so this isn;t specific to our themes or even wordpress.
