Pre sales should go through the help desk.
Theme specific support should also go through the help desk.
We are not trying to replicate the old forum structure here in the new forums.

Andrea RennickMember. I really liked that and wish we still could see that information.
You can. The old forums are closed to new posts and still readable if you have a login.
All the theme setup tutes are moved to the http://my.studiopress.com/ member's portal. All of the extra codey stuff will eventually be moved as well. There is a Tutorials and Code Snippets tab on the right side of the member's area with all kinds of useful info.
Custom questions is what this forum is for. 🙂

At some point we may be able to show them in your member's area but right now that;s an idea.

This is where all the theme downloads are now.
There will be none in this forum. The old forum will not be updated.
If you have Pro Plus, the new theme will show up on the list.

Andrea RennickMemberAny slider that gives you a shortcode would work on a single page.
Changing the Listings to using regualr posts would remove most of the functionality.

Andrea RennickMemberNo, ther eis no relation. A transaction ID is not needed to extract the zip. The file is not encrypted.
This is actually the type of questions you can ask in our help desk, as it relates to the theme directly.

November 25, 2012 at 9:55 am in reply to: When to use forums -vs- when to use support request? #1564Andrea RennickMemberPlease note also for the questions that people ask time and again - in the new http://my.studiopress.com/ members area are SETUP links on how to set up each tehme like the demo.
On the right are "Tutorials" and "Code Snippets"
These generally answer about 80% of the theme questions we get.

Andrea RennickMemberYou do not *need* the old forum logins. 🙂
Once things settle down, all the "good stuff" from the old forums will be mined and brought over into the tutorials section.
And yes you can nag me directly. 🙂

Andrea RennickMemberIt was overlooked. 🙂
Also William - not sure what tutorials you were looking at. If you googled, you may have found instrctions for the previous version of Minimum, which was very different.
We do man the help desk over the weekend, but understandably, responses may not be as quick as during a weekday.

Andrea RennickMemberNetwork admin is where all the code updates happen.
When you activate a plugin on the network, you;ce just activated it network-wide, meaning... ALLL sub sites.
Please read my site at http://wpmututorials.com for all things multisite. Also see wpebooks.com and http://halfelf.org/

Andrea RennickMemberMost of the theme have generally the same areas of css, and all the hooks are in the same places on generally all the themes.
Also forum posts CAN be tagged. Please use those tags heavily on your posts.
And some code I have noticed people calling a "fix" when really it is custom work. Changing the theme behaviour to something else is not a fix. 😉

November 18, 2012 at 10:56 am in reply to: If you have Multisite.. you really have to make updates on each sub-site? #557Andrea RennickMemberI thought Multisite would allow you to share content across the mother site and child site without having to make updates on each one.
No - that is not what multisite does. Multisite is what wordpress.com uses to let people sign up for individual sites in one installation.
