Wow, I don’t know how that happened, how many blogs do you have? You could open each one – copy and paste into Notepad, remove the spaces and then copy/paste it back to the blog. But I don’t have a clue how you remove those.
The images should be in Home Top LEFT not RIGHT. You have text in the RIGHT.February 7, 2013 at 8:09 am in reply to: HELP! I just edited the header.php and site is not working!!!! #18652
Oh and this – http://benconnormusic.com/?attachment_id=1620 is actually leading to a Image Post. It will need to have the actual URL of the image on that post.
One more thing… changes won’t happen immediately. It takes the search engines and Facebook a little bit of time to catch up to the changes.
Like I said, I have used both the plugin and theme together for 8 months and my recommendations have worked well for me. I’ll unsubscribe and let someone else chime in here now. Good luck.February 7, 2013 at 8:08 am in reply to: HELP! I just edited the header.php and site is not working!!!! #18651
That could work. Have you optimized your database lately to remove a lot of dead files, etc.? You can use the WP-Optimize plugin – http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-optimize/screenshots/. You can also use Quick Cache to dump your cache files – http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/quick-cache/.
@vajrasa, she’s using the original Lifestyle Theme that was developed in or before 2007. Genesis Framework was not in existence then – so her theme is not Genesis compatible. She would need to get the new/current Lifestyle and Genesis Framework to upgrade.February 7, 2013 at 7:14 am in reply to: HELP! I just edited the header.php and site is not working!!!! #18645
I am using this same plugin on a client using the same theme. Under Settings > Easy Facebook Share Thumbnails – did you upload a default thumbnail? Did you Debug or Validate Your Pages on the plugin page?
One key point here – the plugin works if there is a “Featured Image” attached to your posts. If there isn’t one, it is to look for the default thumbnail you place in the plugin.
I went to a post and LIKED it and also tried to Share. I was provided two thumbnail images for the post because the post doesn’t have a featured image attached to it.February 7, 2013 at 7:06 am in reply to: HELP! I just edited the header.php and site is not working!!!! #18644
The plugin is recognizing the first image on the site which is the ad code in the Header Right Widget area. Just to test things – drag that off of there into the Inactive Widgets and let’s see what image it picks up first. Let’s start there. No need in fumbling around with all the other stuff yet.
I believe so. Look at this one also – http://genesissnippets.com/genesis-custom-loop/. I did a Google search and found several tuts on this.
Would this help you – http://genesistutorials.com/creating-a-custom-template-in-genesis/?
@sondra, every hosting company could be a victim of Anonymous attacks. They just chose GoDaddy that day. Today it could be someone else. I just have realized that I’ve run my course with GoDaddy. I had issue with them yesterday when one of their coupons didn’t work. I called and even the tech guy could figure it out. After 20 minutes, and looking at the “faint grey” terms at the bottom, the last line said – they couldn’t be used with current services. I reviewed previous emails where the coupons “did” work and that one line was not in there. I told the guy on the phone that it was very misleading and there was no (*) leading to any type of terms or disclaimer. I’ve just had it with them.
They took the background image and re-colored it using a graphics program like Photoshop or Paint. The image is in your folders.
@sondra, you may run into some issues because you are not using the Genesis Framework with that and you may find it’s more trouble trying to hack it than to start over. I personally think you would really benefit to re-develop their website with the new Lifestyle theme. Install a fresh copy of WP in another folder, email support for the Genesis Framework and new Lifestyle theme, install them and go from there. Export their content from the current site, import to the new site and go from there. If you need some help, let me know. I’ll be glad to help you.
Post your URL each time you post a new inquiry. When I see it, I can go take a look.
For WP-Cycle, you must go to Media > WP-Cycle and then manually insert images. Did you do that?
Home Top Right Widget – you need to select “Show Content” or Excerpt.
For the menus, go to Appearance > Menus – make sure you have selected or deselected the appropriate menus in the Primary & Secondary.
