AnitaKeymasterWhy are you modifying the array in the plugin - there is a hover color setting in the widget itself - http://www.studiopress.com/plugins/simple-social-icons.

March 14, 2013 at 9:34 am in reply to: is there a genesis plugin similar to simple sidebars for nav menus? #26194AnitaKeymasterLook at this to see if it will work for you - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-simple-menus/.

AnitaKeymasterTry using Bill Erickson's Genesis Grid Loop plugin - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-grid-loop/.

AnitaKeymasterWhere did you change the padding? Did you change it in the main CSS area or under the mobile device area of the CSS?

AnitaKeymasterMake sure your quotes and apostrophes are the correct ones. Sometimes, they don't copy over correctly. Copy and paste into Notepad, verify and fix - then apply the code again to the Functions file.Scrap that - your code looks wrong. It should be:
/** Customize the return to top of page text */ add_filter( 'genesis_footer_backtotop_text', 'custom_footer_backtotop_text' ); function custom_footer_backtotop_text($backtotop) { $backtotop = '[footer_backtotop text="Return to Top"]'; return $backtotop; }
You have too many brackets.

AnitaKeymasterFor the header - home page only area - you could add in a Welcome Widget just for home page using Brian Gardner's instructions - http://www.briangardner.com/welcome-text-widget/ but you would need to add this to the code for "home page only."
if ( is_home() )
You could create a nice transparent image with the text you want and add it to that widget area.
Then to jump down the page as you want - you can add in a Page Jump using the instructions found here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/page-jumps/#jump

AnitaKeymasterOk, once you attach and link the file, in edit mode - click the document, then the CHAIN LINK image - it will open up - you will see a check box to open it in a new window or you can add target="_blank" to the code in HTML mode.

AnitaKeymasterYou're welcome.

AnitaKeymaster@Frank as Susan stated, you've just issued a blanket request not pointing to anything specific, i.e., how to set up my theme, how to use the Genesis Framework, etc., etc. If you are a website developer you should have some reasonable knowledge on how to use a theme and you should have some reasonable knowledge of how to edit and modify your CSS to change colors, etc., etc. If you are a "noobie" who decided to "do websites" because you can sucker your clients into purchasing something from you because they don't know any better, then you are barking up the wrong tree. Making a "threat" that you won't advise your customers to purchase from Studiopress means absolutely nothing and... it makes anyone on this forum unlikely to want to assist you further. Studiopress developed a product and it is up to you to customize the theme to YOUR liking. There are thousands of people who use WordPress, Themes, and a ton of other frameworks, etc. There is *no way* they can anticipate what *you* want to modify. There is no way to document that.
With that said, don't buy something you cannot work with and don't advise your clients. It won't impact anything on here or SP.
Now.. if you want to play nicely... this is a volunteer forum where when one needs assistance with customizing their theme - we all try to pitch in to help - for FREE.

AnitaKeymaster@codrutturcanu, I Googled the issue you are having and found this regarding long file names and the inability to open documents. They provide a resolution:

AnitaKeymasterIt's difficult to assist when we can't view your code and css. Is there a way to turn it on temporarily? You can add the link to your site in privately so as to not make it public in here.

AnitaKeymasterYou can use Widget Logic and tell it to do that - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widget-logic/. Or, you can use Simple Sidebars and create a specific sidebar.
