January 29, 2013 at 5:26 pm in reply to: Eleven40 – control length / setup of homepage and post previews #16192AnitaKeymasterIn the feature image size - if you want an image to be aligned left, right or none - set that in the class. For instance set your image to about 580px wide from 0 - 0 means to leave image off then add alignnone so the image is aligned over the text at the top of the post.
If you only want an image and post title and no content - set the grid content limit to to - 0.
To change the Continue Reading - look at the last line that says "more" you will see Continue Reading in brackets - change it there.
To add the slider - do one of these -
If you want the slider to above the post content (the middle only) - follow these instructions - http://www.briangardner.com/home-widget-area-eleven40/.
If you want a large full width slider above the three columns - follow these instructions - http://www.briangardner.com/welcome-text-widget/

I love it and it has a ton of other plugins built right in. I especially like the Share buttons. I really don't like Share This and you cannot put the buttons at the top of the blog, but you can using Jetpack.

January 29, 2013 at 4:11 pm in reply to: Eleven40 – control length / setup of homepage and post previews #16150AnitaKeymasterOpen up your Home.php file and look for this:
if ( function_exists( 'genesis_grid_loop' ) ) { genesis_grid_loop( array( 'features' => 1, 'feature_image_size' => 0, 'feature_image_class' => 'alignleft post-image', 'feature_content_limit' => 0, 'grid_image_size' => 'grid-thumbnail', 'grid_image_class' => 'alignnone', 'grid_content_limit' => 250, 'more' => __( '[Continue reading]', 'genesis' ), ) );
Change the feature content limit to whatever number you want.

AnitaKeymasterHere's where I posted what they said would fix it - http://www.studiopress.community/topic/fix-for-video-resizing-to-small-oembeds/.

AnitaKeymasterI am using my phone to respond right now. Click my image and look for a forum post I wrote about this. Its a wordpress issue not a Studiopress issue. I will try to post it here when I get to my computer.

AnitaKeymasterHow familiar are you with WordPress? This function is a WordPress function and
sonot so much a Studiopress/Genesis function. Go to Tools > Import - install the WordPress plugin. It will then allow you to Import the XML which is in the file folder on your desktop.

AnitaKeymasterYou did a great job again!
Love coffee, chocolate and my Bella!
AnitaKeymasterDid you import the XML file which provides the demo content?
Love coffee, chocolate and my Bella!
AnitaKeymasterOkay. Themes that come with those will have the information in the instructions. You need to look for that on each respective demo. But here are some other tutorials you can use:
Brian Gardner wrote a blog and provides instruction on boxes and buttons here: http://www.studiopress.com/design/colored-content-boxes-buttons.htm.
Column Classes are here - http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/content-column-classes/.

AnitaKeymasterYou are working on it and changing it at the same time, so I'll wait until you are done 🙂

AnitaKeymasterYou must be modifying it because I see black in there now. But, I like it, however I used Firebug... replaced transparent with the color code #E5E5E5 to the:
.content-sidebar #inner {
background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #E5E5E5;
border: 0 solid #ADADAD !important;
border-radius: 0 0 0 0;
margin-bottom: 0;
margin-top: 0;
padding: 0;}
This made the site pop a bit more.

AnitaKeymasterYou can start here - http://designsbynickthegeek.com/tutorials/add-widgeted-sidebar. And use this - http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/register-widget-area/. We can't really tell you anything else in detail because you didn't say where you wanted it. So if you want, provide the URL of your website, the theme you are using and that would be very helpful.

AnitaKeymasterI did a bit of research and posted on a couple forums and the consensus was this plugin - http://soliloquywp.com/.

AnitaKeymasterWhat type of shortcodes are you referring to? Shortcodes for buttons, boxes or shortcodes for plugins or PHP code?

AnitaKeymasterLog in to your my.studiopress.com account, go to Downloads and there you will be presented with the instructions for all the themes you've purchased. Here is the direct link to Mindstream - http://my.studiopress.com/setup/mindstream-theme/.

AnitaKeymasterWhat is the URL and what was the last thing you did before you received the error?
Love coffee, chocolate and my Bella!
AnitaKeymasterYou really don't need a plugin. I use Google Webmaster Tools. If you haven't set up an account with Google, go here. Once you do this - you can actually add two sitemaps, 1) the main site and 2) the blog. To add the blog - read here. Scroll down to RSS. You can just add the RSS feed to your blog and it will capture the blogs. I try to manually do as much of this as I can to avoid plugin conflicts, etc.
