This can be closed. I cannot get any of the things I find in the Google searches to work. I am purchasing a theme from Themeforest. Thank you for trying to help me.

AnitaKeymasterRia, if you come online today - I found this instruction but I am not sure how to use it. Would you happen to know and do I copy and paste the entire code or only pieces parts of it?

AnitaKeymasterYes, you can save both back to your desktop - just use the FTP that your host provides you or you can use Filezilla. If you haven't edited those files before - keep in mind that if you still have the original files that you purchased, i.e., the Zip file - there is also a backup copy inside there. A lot of people forget that they get a copy from their Zip file.

AnitaKeymasterHow large do you want the slider to be - what width and height. Also for adding the link to your privacy policy, you can just drag a Text Widget into the Footer Widget area and add the link there.

AnitaKeymasterWell one of the problems is that if you look at the the titles - some have 3 lines and some have 2 which causes the misalignment of the columns. I don't know how to resolve that for you. I will have to defer to someone else who can provide more technical assistance.

AnitaKeymasterPlease post a link to your site. Images do not help very much as we need to see the code behind the theme.

AnitaKeymasterIt appears that you have a static page set as your home page. The slider will not work with a static home page.

AnitaKeymasterOh man, I have the Executive theme and never realized it had the Call to Action. Sorry for incorrectly stating that it didn't have it.

December 25, 2012 at 12:30 pm in reply to: Inserting Specific Code on Homepage and Specific Pages #7392AnitaKeymasterThis is a bit more technical than my skill level, but if it's something you need to place in the head or footer of the theme itself - you can use the box on the Genesis tab - scroll down and you'll see Genesis Header & Footer Scripts - you can place your scripts in there.

December 25, 2012 at 12:17 pm in reply to: Inserting Specific Code on Homepage and Specific Pages #7386AnitaKeymasterThat happened to me last night. I see the message about the forum acting strange. I think it's when you try to add a link.

AnitaKeymasterAdd this under your function custom_footer line -
if( is_home() ) {
Here's more on this - http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/is_home.

AnitaKeymasterTom, the Education has a built-in Call to Action area. The Executive themes or the other Studiopress themes do not have that area.

AnitaKeymasterGreat tip Bill! I never heard of that one. See... you aren't a noobie anymore! Merry Christmas!

AnitaKeymasterThe Header Right Position is located in the right side of your Header Image. If you place content in Header Right, it will overlay your Header Image. There isn't a particular widget area for a slider. Where do you want to place the slider? On the left above your content or in the sidebar on the right.
If you want it to be located above the content on the left - follow these instructions - http://www.briangardner.com/home-widget-area-eleven40/. It will create a new widget area for you.
For the footers -
Go to Function.php and look for this: change the 3 to a 1 - and then save it.
/** Add support for 3-column footer widgets */
add_theme_support( 'genesis-footer-widgets', 3 );Then - go to Style.css, and find this: change the width to about 900px and it will stretch across.
.footer-widgets-1 {
float: left;
padding: 0 20px 0 0;
width: 290px;
}Merry Christmas to you too!

AnitaKeymasterI posted a message before Riavon posted their message. If you want the columns flip flopped so they will work correctly you can use this - http://www.billerickson.net/switch-genesis-sidebars/.
