AnitaKeymasterThank you surefirewebserv. I tried Coen's way and didn't work. Would you be able to tell me how to perform the steps you described in your response. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do what you suggested. 🙁

AnitaKeymasterThank you Coen. I will give that a try now.

AnitaKeymasterAnyone online today that might be able to assist with this?

AnitaKeymasterIf you uncheck the Show Post Title - and... manual type the title into the the title area of the widget - the Title will appear above the image.

December 20, 2012 at 6:41 am in reply to: Sidebar horizontal line without padding or margin – Balance #6366AnitaKeymasterI see now, because you have a white background I couldn't see it. I used Firebug and see that it's the left and right Margins, not the padding. So remove your left and right margins and it will fix it.
**NEW NOTE** her Margins are set at 0.

AnitaKeymasterWhat Genesis child theme are you using? It doesn't appear that you are using the Genesis framework on the Ithacaindy.com website. Genesis Connect will only work on the Genesis Framework with a Genesis Child Theme.

AnitaKeymasterHere is one that has pretty good ratings - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/facebook-button-plugin/screenshots/.

AnitaKeymasterHere is one you might consider - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/s2member/. It's really loaded with options. You need to take your time to learn it so I would suggest putting it on a test site, playing around with it so you'll know all the features and functions and then install it to a LIVE site.

AnitaKeymasterThat's odd. I have that same theme and never had a problem with the custom background image. But I am glad you figured it out.

AnitaKeymasterThat would be a lot of work to customize to have it to all those things. I've worked with a lot of Themeforest themes. If you need some help with the one you purchase, click the link in my footer to my website and contact me from there. I can help you remotely.

AnitaKeymasterWow, that's a lot of work. Doesn't the Genesis Simple Edits do the same thing without modifying the code - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-simple-edits? I am trying to learn which way is better - modifying code or just using plugins to make things work.

AnitaKeymasterCan I get a link to your site. The function that calls the size and cropping is in your Functions.php file. Open that up and you should see the default settings. Change those to what you need. Then change the #header size plus look for the header image size and change in both places.

AnitaKeymasterWell, you can. It's just going to take a few tweaks to get it that way. How good are you with CSS? This is what I'd do and I am not a programmer or anything. But.. here it goes.
You could follow Brian's instructions for Adding the Welcome Text Widget (http://www.briangardner.com/welcome-text-widget/) - this will give you a sidebar under the banner and before the content to place the Genesis Slider or the Responsive Slider. His instructions are really easy.
On another Genesis discussion group they told me about the Sililoquy plugin which you could get for $20 to give you the sliding images at the bottom. Again, if you use Brian's instructions, you can add another Welcome Text Widget area and hook it before the footer - then put this plugin in there.
Then start "coloring" it up with CSS.
Just a side note, my heart aches when I see dogs that do not have forever homes yet. I have an 13 year male bichon pooh and he's my baby. If you need more help, let me know. I'll try my best to help you.

December 19, 2012 at 5:07 pm in reply to: Sidebar horizontal line without padding or margin – Balance #6277AnitaKeymasterOh, I don't believe you can do that. The CSS is adjusting to the width of the sidebar. There's no way to get it go stretch outside of that area like that.

December 19, 2012 at 3:50 pm in reply to: Sidebar horizontal line without padding or margin – Balance #6262AnitaKeymasterI see a lot of lines and bars. Can you be more specific in the location possibly describing the text that is near what you want changed?

December 19, 2012 at 3:32 pm in reply to: [Complain] Unlimited Theme Updates but some Studiopress Themes are being retired #6257AnitaKeymasterThat might not be the best example but the point is - I don't think they're out to screw anyone and I'd hate to turn this into an Instagram situation with all the legal jargon. This is a community forum and that's why I responded. I hope someone from Studiopress addresses your concern.

AnitaKeymasterOne more suggestion - when you deactivate your plugins - re-activate them one at a time and go back and forth to see if you can see it.
