Thanks for sharing your story 🙂 and for all of the good suggestions.
I got this to work by setting the transition time to zero along with using only one slide.
annestudiopressMemberThanks for your suggestion on this. I ended up just sticking with the genesis slider and styling the css so it ended up meeting my needs after all. I appreciate your feedback and the link you sent!
annestudiopressMemberThis reply has been marked as private.annestudiopressMemberI found it hardcoded in the template file for the home page. Crazy! Looking good in ie8 and ie9 now, nothing I can't handle in ie7 but not really sure if I need to support that as it's 1% of browser usage these days. Thank you **SO MUCH** for your help!!
annestudiopressMemberYes, that's what I am going to do. The slides rotating look better than a static image and since it's not behaving, it's simply time to add a slide or two. Thanks for the input!
annestudiopressMemberThere is a doctype, it is this:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
There is a <style> statement BEFORE the doctype, however, I have no idea why this is there or where it would come from in a WordPress theme. It looks like this:<style>
.content
</style>Any ideas why that would precede everything in the agentpress child theme? And how do you get rid of it?
annestudiopressMemberIt's hard inheriting code from someone else. Thanks to both of you for the tips and links. Now I just have to figure out why it's so totally broken in IE. Sigh.
annestudiopressMemberThanks for your response. I tried that but it just rotates through displaying the one slide over and over. I need to stop the motion altogether, do you know if there's a way to do that? This is my site so you can see the behavior:
annestudiopressMemberThanks for your suggestions! I commented out the !important widths on these 2 divs (#inner and #content-sidebar-wrap) and that did the trick. In firebug for some reason I was not seeing these widths. I don't know why these 2 widths were set up in the css by the person who customized this page but they are now gone forever.
