Antiac, Thanks for taking the time to respond. But once I did not hear from anyone after a week I figured I was on my own and I went another direction with wanted to do. My apologies for not coming back to mark the question as resolved.
bmeadorMemberMy apologies if I am not being clear in my question. But the sidebar column background for my website is the same white background as my main content area.
I believe that you are looking at the yellow background that I have added within each widget container in the sidebar. However, if you look at the example I noted at http://www.thebookdesigner.com you will see that he has a separate color background for two sidebar columns that run the entire length of the page that are separate from the backgrounds that are inside the widgets. Let me know if my question is still unclear. Thanks.
bmeadorMemberI finally figured out I was having an issue with my main header margin that was moving the text to the lower right corner. Thanks for the help.
bmeadorMemberThanks for the help. The change you provided solved the problem. I will also take your advice and consider getting an HTML 5 theme. Being a rookie, I did not realize it made a difference. Freelance was simply one of the few conservative professional service style blog themes I could find. Thanks again.
