Oops…just found it in the actual widget and removed By [post_author_posts_link] there. Working now.
I found that the solution was in the css file not home.php. I removed the background color from .home-top-left and that seemed to fix the issue.
I deactivated wp-cycle for the same reasons and installed and activated a Genesis Slider. However, I still have a white box in the top left of my home page where wp-cycle used to be. Tried removing the code from home.php but I get an error message. Maybe I’m taking out too much code…or not enough?
<?php if (!dynamic_sidebar(‘Home Top Left’)) : ?>
<?php if( function_exists(‘wp_cycle’) ) : ?>
<?php wp_cycle(); ?>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php endif; ?>
</div><!– end .home-top-left –>
Thanks Tonya. One more question, when I remove a navigation menu everything slides to either the right (or center). My client wants his logo to line up directly under the “Home” item. Any way to left justify the top nav but leaving about an inch of space?
Perfect! This works quite well. Thank you VERY much!
Here is what I got back from Support. I haven’t had a chance to try it yet:
The blue bar at the top of our demo was created using the primary navigation. To create something similar, follow these steps:
(1) Create a menu in Appearance > Menus with your preferred links and check the box to use it as primary navigation.
(2) To add the search bar, add this to functions.php: https://gist.github.com/nutsandbolts/3f09933d5c8010317973
That should give you the blue bar like our demo.
The site is in maintenance mode as we don’t want it showing for clients while it’s in progress. Is the blue bar with social and search supposed to be showing by default? I didn’t see anything in the theme instructions about it.
Please delete this post. I had forgotten that I had to use featured images on each page. Thanks.
I figured out the issue with the slider but if anyone can tell me where to change the header background color, I’d really appreciate it!
Also, I have a Meteor Slideshow set at 1080×590 pixels but the height is coming up short by 30 pixels. I have the slideshow widget in my Home-About widget area. Again looking at Firebug, I can’t find where to change the padding or whatever is causing the 590 height to come up short. See http://cylonweb.com/demo1/
Thanks. Works perfectly!
Disregard this post. Switched to Meteor Slides and works fine now.
Thanks sdbroker. For this particular account, I’m using the standard IDX Broker option rather than Platinum so I have to use the Global HTML Wrapper (no options for Dynamic) but it does have a WordPress include which is what I’m using. Also, you are right about the sub-domain. That is in progress. Thanks for your help.
Right. I knew that alt tags, etc. would have to be manually inserted. Just wondering if any of the other requirements might be lacking a way of implementing them from within a theme. Thanks.
Perfect! That worked. Thank you VERY much!
