I also want studiopress to release their AgentPress mobile responsive theme! I've been working on building a site with the AP 2.0 but I've been checking every day for the last several months for the new release of the mobile one to no avail...
I'm dying here... please someone and SP tell us when it's going to be released! please, pretty please. ๐
cotayloMemberThanks Marc but any chance there is a simpler answer?
I mean, really, I just uploaded my logo via Appearance > Background. Why do I need to add all that code to fix that overlapping theme glitch?
I was expecting a little more user friendliness with the Studiopress themes. ๐
I haven't changed any code yet - the theme is straight out of the box so to speak and already I have this problem that I have to add code for?
cotayloMemberI have the same issue as socialprguy.
If I uncheck "Show header text with your image" then my logo also disappears and I just get a large blue full width box in the header.
If I leave it checked, then I get the original text over top of my logo...
You can see that here: http://www.DabofRehab.com
Thanks for the input!
cotayloMemberok. well, I got the author-box to appear. I was actually looking at my category blog page when I didn't see it.
I guess that the author-box only appears on the actual post itself, right? Because I first had a category link on my nav menu and it wouldn't show the author-box on the post there.
So then I created the category blog page and I can't get the author box to appear on those entries either.
I suppose I'm not really sure which would be the best way to set things up to get the result I want. This is what I really want to do:
Have one post (sticky) at the top with author box and excerpts of other posts below (all the same category). I thought I could achieve this with the blog page and sticky but that didn't work the way I wanted.
Can I create a regular page with the content I want at the top that always stays the same and then use a grid loop for the excerpts to stream below?
I'm working on the "Market Data" here: http://216.172.181.99/~cchs/Thanks for any pointers y'all might have. ๐
cotayloMemberoooh, yay! THank you Tony. That took care of it just like you said.
You saved the day. ๐
ColleencotayloMemberCool. Thanks so much for your reply.
Maybe I'll just continue on the temp URL and keep checking to see if it gets indexed... is there a good way to check all the search engines for indexing at once?
I noticed that you checked google by searching for this: site:216.172.181.99/~cchs
cotayloMemberAnd if I switch to working on it locally, my clients/parents won't be able to view the site during the building process will they?
cotayloMemberHmmm. Ok so I guess that I am not developing locally since others can access my site.ย ie. when I ask questions on this forum, people can access my site.ย I suppose I don't totally understand how my url is set up right now. When I go to the link you have above, it shows a listing for someone else's website ~ferrell. I don't know who that is. I'm thinking that when I asked HostGator to help me set it up that I must be sharing the 216.172.181.99 with others. When I enter my full URL 216.172.181.99/~cchsย google says, "Your search - site:216.172.181.99/~CCHS - did not match any documents." So I guess I must be sharing that server?
Do you know if it is hard to switch from what I am doing now over to wpinstant.com since I've already started this other way?:)
Thanks for your guidance!
cotayloMemberAnitac,
YAY! It totally worked and now I know how to add more stuff to my specific widget IDs.
Thank you so much! You rock. I appreciate your time helping me.
In case anyone else wants to know how to add images - I was successful using the ithemes plugin called Billboard (25 bucks, i think) to add 3 horizontal call to action buttons.
cotayloMemberhey John. Thanks.
So, then I would actually create the redirect from the .php to the new wordpress that just ends in the "/", right?
Just trying to be clear that the domain that ends in the .php does indeed need a to have a redirect to the .com/, right?
cotayloMemberaww, poo. I just did. Didn't work. Darn it. ๐
cotayloMemberOk. so I've made a little progress with getting my responsive slider to occupy the width of the featured-top section.
Now, I'm trying to get this part of the Featured-top section:
background-color: #EEE7CB;To be the full width of the viewport.
Anyone got any thoughts?
thanks in advance.
ColleencotayloMemberNevermind - sorry to bug. I actually found this: http://www.studiopress.com/tips/google-web-fonts.htm
and I can figure it out from there. ๐
cotayloMemberI'd like to change my fonts too and I know how to use firebug and css but I have a question.
How do I change to a font type that's not in my list of fonts when I'm selecting on Firebug. Do I need to add the font somewhere in the theme function or something?
Thanks
๐cotayloMemberoops - sorry, left off my site location: http://216.172.181.99/~cchs/
I like the featured top at this site: http://www.miamicitydiggs.com/
cotayloMemberShut. up! I can't believe it was that easy - I swear I thought I tried that several times before and it didn't work. I'm a moron.
Anyway - I totally worked. Big thanks Greg!
cotayloMemberI forgot to mention that I alsoย removed the width from the #wrap. (so add that to the steps above - wish I could have edited the post)
cotayloMemberOk. Here's what I've got so far if others are following this and want to have the full-width header.
I created a small file in CorelDraw size 20px wide by 167px high. and colored it how I wanted as a gradient.
I saved the file as gradient2.png (because gradient.png is already used in this theme for the Subnav)
I copied the gradient2.png using Filezilla to: /www/wp-content/themes/agentpress/images
Then, I added this code to the theme CSS:
/* Body
------------------------------------------------------------ */body {
background: url(images/gradient2.png);
background-repeat:repeat-x;
}I wanted to change the color of the main background color so I also changed the background color in the CSS here:
/* AgentPress Tan
------------------------------------------------------------ */body.agentpress-tan {
background-color: #06697B
}I hope this helps someone who's as new as me to CSS! and if any of the more seasoned developers notice an error - feel free to chime in ๐
In the meantime, I managed to get my logo.png off kilter so if anyone can help me get it back in the right spot, I'd really appreciate it... I just want it where it normally would be left aligned with the main portion of the webpage. You can see where it's off here: http://216.172.181.99/~cchs/
Thanks in advance!
ColleencotayloMemberCool - I'm going to check out the tutorial above too because, I still can't figure out my header situation...
If I add the gradient to the 'body', it changes the whole background for the page and I really only want to change the top 2 inches like the footer is at the bottom.
I'll go read the tutorial and see if I can figure it out there before I ask more questions. ๐
Thanks you guys! If I ever get the code right, I'll post it for others to see.
cotayloMemberYay! I got the Footer the way I wanted it with your help - thank you!
In case anyone else wants to know what my CSS looks like to achieve it, here it is:
/* Footer Widgets
------------------------------------------------------------ */#footer-widgets {
-moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 3px #000;
-webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 3px #000;
background-color: #273549;
box-shadow: 0 1px 3px #000;
margin: 0 auto;
overflow: hidden;}
#footer-widgets .wrap {
color: #fff;
font-size: 12px;
line-height: 20px;
padding: 20px 20px 0;
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
width: 920px;
}I didn't change anything else in this area from the AgentPress template just the above code to achieve the look of a full-width footer that seems to be popular now.
Thank You John!!! -
