I've actually been having some problems with the slider myself. I'm not 100% sure which plugin it is, but I think the culprit might be WP Supercache. For me, the slider comes and goes. It's something really recent - as in the last week or so.

delectablychicMemberI had a problem with Quick Cache - it threw off the theme on Safari - the sidebars were pushed downwards. I'm not sure if it's still the case, now that there have been a few updates with both Genesis and WordPress, but this was why I switched to Super Cache.,

delectablychicMemberThanks, Dave! I think it's working now...maybe (LOL)... By the way, any suggestions for cache settings?

delectablychicMemberI've had API issues since I started using Genesis a few years ago. Sometimes it behaves, other times, it doesn't. I think I'm just going to use code snippets now.

delectablychicMemberHere lies the problem. There are elements I like about the Grid Loop and ones I like about the featured widget. For example, I'm having a hard time editing appearances of the featured widget (see this post for what I'm looking to do) - the Grid Loop allows me to do this. At the same time, I'd like to keep my layout relatively the same as what I have now (currently using featured widgets in Lifestyle).

delectablychicMemberAlso, I'm assuming it's not possible to split grid loops? For example, have three posts, then an ad, and then grid loops again (which you can with widgets)?

No tips?

March 8, 2013 at 10:07 pm in reply to: Simple Hooks and Widgets (specifically the Featured Post Widget) #25146delectablychicMemberAnother thing: Will this get rid of "filed under: ____"?

delectablychicMemberThanks! Not that I understand all that coding! What do you recommend? Widgets or the grid loop?

March 8, 2013 at 7:50 am in reply to: Simple Hooks and Widgets (specifically the Featured Post Widget) #24977delectablychicMemberHi Brad:
What I'd like to show is the category/categories above the title on the featured posts (without "Filed Under" before the category), but not tags I've tried to make it work using Genesis Grid Loop on my test site, but it isn't ideal as all it does is turn a standard post excerpt into a grid format.
As for post meta, showing the category is okay, but I don't want it up on excerpts - I only want to see tags in posts.
Thanks

delectablychicMemberWhen you are posting, isn't there a place where you can click and upload a featured image?

delectablychicMemberSusan, would the widgets shift over? I'm trying to get this sort of effect.

delectablychicMemberOh, and by the way: I might be switching from Lifestyle to Metro soon, so would using Simple Hooks be better? I just need to know where to put the code.
Thanks

delectablychicMemberAnother thing: Do I use both codes you gave me (post #24301 and post #24398)? I think I tried using both only to get a white screen of death?
Thanks
Cynthia

delectablychicMemberOne more thing: Is it supposed to go in a particular spot in the functions.php file or anywhere at all?
Thanks

delectablychicMemberHi surefirewebserv,
I'm using Feature Widget Amplified. Should I be switching back to the standard one?
Thanks

delectablychicMemberHi surefireweserv:
If I were to use Genesis Simple Hooks, where would I post it? Or does this go on the CSS?
Thanks
