I used this and put 2 text widgets in the Home bottom... works.
.home-bottom .widget:nth-child(3n+1) {
clear: both;
width: 455px;
float: left;
margin-right: 45px;
padding: 30px;
border: 2px solid #BEEFF0;
border-radius: 10px;
}.home-bottom .widget:nth-child(3n+2) {
width: 465px;
float: left;
}dhroseMemberYes. I contacted him and started a dialog (he said it could be set up in an hour) but I was reluctant to give him access to my entire site without some type of contract. He backed out – and claimed it would be a 5 hour minimum charge so he effectively ended the dialog. What I liked about that plugin though was it put a simple username and password form right on the page... without using the wp login route. It was perfect. But at this point I'm going to see if I can use a custom login with access control plugin... unless someone steps up and says they can do this.
Thanks!
dhroseMemberWoo Hoo! That worked in the php plugin… Now, if I could figure out how to add multiple categories, I could rule the world.
Er, well maybe not, but that would be cool. I have categories that contain multiple sub-categories that I've tried to figure a way to display (pinpoint them) in multiple areas… For instance:
Confined Space:
manuals
training
videos
formsWhat I did was create the Video category and make all the topics… confined space, excavation, electrical safety sub-categories of video. But the manuals, forms and training I couldn't figure a way to make them sub-categories without duplicating that hierarchy over again which seemed dumb… It's been frying my brain.
Thanks for all your help!
dhroseMemberHello… Maybe that was a dumb question. Ha! I was thinking I don't want to add to the Genesis theme sidebar.php in case something bad happened… Is that where it goes?
Thanks for your help.
dhroseMemberI was looking at adding this code and I don't see any sidebar.php file in the Minimum Pro (child) theme I'm using… Appearance>Editor>Sidebar?
Sidebar PHP is in the Genesis Theme editor… is that where it would have to be?
I downloaded the Dragon code as well but it appears it won't work in a sidebar?
dhroseMemberThanks Tom… this has been perplexing me for weeks as I've downloaded every plugin related to the topic and discovered it was not what I needed. I'll try the first solution, but I think I tried something from Dragon and it didn't work. I'll check that one out as well. Seems strange that all the category and tag plugins link to the archive, and no one has come up with a solution to link to the actual post?
dhroseMemberThanks for your reply…I did download the maintenance plugin and it appears to work for what I need. I have another quandary I'm working on that is vexing me. Is there any way to link to the actual "posts" instead of a category or tag "archive." I have a bunch of plugins that do drop down menus for categories, sub-categories, tags etc. But there doesn't seem to be any way to link directly to the post itself, other than a custom menu… I need to have drop downs in the sidebar. Very perplexing! I've been trying to figure this out for weeks. Arghhh!
dhroseMemberNope. Genesis Minimum Pro Theme… I need a page that has a login that redirects to the main home page.
June 2, 2014 at 11:25 am in reply to: Enterprise Pro – content between home-top and home-bottom? #107851dhroseMemberThanks. But What I wanted to do is add a full width text headline, sort of a call to action… under the slider. I did that by changing the css for the home bottom to 100%. And using the footer widgets for the home bottom I had. But that does take out 3 potential widgets. I may end up doing what you suggested and using the (1) for the call-out.
Thanks...
dhroseMemberThanks Tom, I got that working… What I'm trying to do is this: I have a parent category named video. Within that is, hazards, confined space, excavation, safety etc. So From the page: videos, I'm showing the sidebar widget with subcategory: video. Which lists all those subcategories and the (amount) of each category posts. If you click on one of those subcategories it takes you to an archive page listing all the posts in that subcategory (excavation). If I click on the first excavation post, it takes me to the page with that video. What I'd like to do, is on that post page (excavation video) the sidebar shows just "excavation" videos, excavation documents, and excavation training courses. Currently it just shows the default sidebar with "All" videos, "All training Courses," and "All documents." So all the videos, training courses, and documents are posts… and categorized. It's just how to get them (sorted) and on the right sidebar widget… I've tried widget logic and creating custom sidebars for everything but it's getting too confusing. Haven't tried tags yet. Not sure If I can get it to work without code.
Thanks!
