Thanks, that makes perfect sense now. I did have a conflict because I had used the 'remove_action' to remove the header-sidebar on the Home page. Now I can get rid if the 'Custom Sidebars' plugin even though it worked fine.
I used this instead....Is this the most efficient way?
add_action( 'genesis_meta', 'dh_remove_home_header_sidebar'); function dh_remove_home_header_sidebar() { if ( is_home() ) { unregister_sidebar( 'header-right' ); } }

Doak HeggenessMemberDoak HeggenessMemberYou could put your logo in the 'header-right' sidebar if it is not active. You will have to adjust the dimensions in the stylesheet to accomodate it.

Doak HeggenessMemberTo clarify, I would like to replace the
header-right
sidebar with theheader-right-2
sidebar on specific pages. I have different menus for each sidebar..'header-right'' - primary
'header-right-2 - secondaryI wonder if I need to replace the header?
I have 'unregisterd' the 'header-right' sidebar for the page

Doak HeggenessMemberI think you are right. Thanks for the links, they are going in the right direction.
I was planning on using the 'secondary' menu.

Doak HeggenessMemberNo, I was taliking about putting text in a horizontal line, ie.......
----------------------------- some text-----------------------------
I figured it out using the
::before
&::after
selectors.http://spectrumlasertraining.com/solo/

Doak HeggenessMemberVictor,
I had it set to "align:center". You got me thinking to check and they had hardcoded it in the CSS file; I guess since it was in the header. It is working now.Thanks

Doak HeggenessMemberThanks, I must not have had the right search parameters.

Doak HeggenessMemberThey appear to be calling themes that are HTML5 compliant 'Pro'. That avoids any confusion down the road.

Doak HeggenessMemberThis reply has been marked as private.Doak HeggenessMemberYou should be able to use the 'Links' metabox under the 'Menu' tab. Add a 'CSS class' and add a
background: url(...);

Doak HeggenessMemberMary,
That is why you hire a developer,,,ie as a architect does not build
Doak Heggeness, WordPress Development | Website
Doak HeggenessMemberYes, probably, it is easy to create a syntax error ( a semicolon out of place will create one ). Here is the home.php without the grid loop. Copy & paste it or check it against yours.
<?php add_action( 'genesis_meta', 'balance_home_genesis_meta' ); /** * Add widget support for homepage. * */ function balance_home_genesis_meta() { if ( is_active_sidebar( 'home-featured-left' ) || is_active_sidebar( 'home-featured-right' ) ) { add_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'balance_home_loop_helper' ); } } /** * Display widget content for home featured sections. * */ function balance_home_loop_helper() { if ( is_active_sidebar( 'home-featured-left' ) || is_active_sidebar( 'home-featured-right' ) ) { echo '<div id="home-featured"><div class="wrap clearfix">'; echo '<div class="home-featured-left">'; dynamic_sidebar( 'home-featured-left' ); echo '</div><!-- end .home-featured-left -->'; echo '<div class="home-featured-right">'; dynamic_sidebar( 'home-featured-right' ); echo '</div><!-- end .home-featured-right -->'; echo '</div><!-- end .wrap --></div><!-- end #home-featured -->'; } } genesis();

Doak HeggenessMemberYou need to uncomment-out ( /*...*/ ) or delete the 'grid loop' in the home.php ( lines 41 - 66 ). Please use a third party app ( cPanel or SFTP ) so you can 'undo' any errors. DO NOT delete
genesis ();
at the bottom of the page./* remove_action( 'genesis_loop', 'genesis_do_loop' ); add_action( 'genesis_loop', 'child_grid_loop_helper' ); /** Add support for Genesis Grid Loop **/ function child_grid_loop_helper() { if ( function_exists( 'genesis_grid_loop' ) ) { genesis_grid_loop( array( 'features' => 1, 'feature_image_size' => 0, 'feature_image_class' => 'align none post-image', 'feature_content_limit' => 0, 'grid_image_size' => 'grid', 'grid_image_class' => 'align none post-image', 'grid_content_limit' => 0, 'more' => __( 'Continue reading...', 'genesis' ), 'posts_per_page' => 5, ) ); } else { genesis_standard_loop(); } } */

Doak HeggenessMemberDoak HeggenessMemberkduffey,
I just inserted a logo in five minutes. Of course, I had done it before

Doak HeggenessMemberI have not done this with the Minimum theme. I have on several other StudioPress themes and see no reason why it should not work here. When I get a minute I am going to add an image logo to this theme and see what happens.

Doak HeggenessMemberIf you want a background color full screen in your header, you cannot upload your header image via the Daahboard as you described. You have to do the following
1) Uncomment-out or delete theme support for the custom header in the functions.php file by using /*...*/ see below`/*
// Add support for custom header
add_theme_support( 'genesis-custom-header', array(
'width' => 1152,
'height' => 120
) );*/`2) Modify the style,css to give a background color to your header
/* 04a - Structure ----------- */ .wrap, #header, #inner { margin: 0 auto; max-width: 1080px; }
Change the above to:
/* 04a - Structure ----------- */ .wrap, #inner { margin: 0 auto; max-width: 1040px; } #header { background-color:#your-color; }
3) I have done this on this theme. It has some perculiarities. Upload you image header to the 'images' folder of your theme. Then you need to add your image to the stylesheet similar to adding a logo in this section`
/* 04c - Header ----------- */
.header-image #title,
.header-image #title a {
background: url( 'images/your-logo-filename.png' ) no-repeat;
}`
You man have to make some other modifications to this section as they have added some content under#title
This may not be worth the hassle for the outcome.

Doak HeggenessMemberI have no idea, but all themes are slightly different. The method I gave you should work on all genesis themes. This is the beauty of Genesis, learn the proper way and you can reuse code.
