I tried this:
//* Modify the WordPress read more link add_filter( 'the_content_more_link', 'sp_read_more_link' ); function sp_read_more_link() { return '<a class="more-link" href="' . get_permalink() . '">[Continue Reading]</a>'; }
Fortunately, it didn't break my site. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working.
donnielawMemberNo thoughts on this issue?
donnielawMemberI wonder why the code I used broke the site?
April 8, 2014 at 12:02 pm in reply to: Change author link in post info to link to about page in parallax pro #99080donnielawMemberSo I could theoretically change it to include the following link like below?
<?php //* Do NOT include the opening php tag //* Customize the entry meta in the entry header (requires HTML5 theme support) add_filter( 'genesis_post_info', 'sp_post_info_filter' ); function sp_post_info_filter($post_info) { $post_info = '[post_date] by <a href="http://donnielaw.com/about/" target="_blank">Donnie Law</a> [post_comments] [post_edit]'; return $post_info; }
April 4, 2014 at 12:51 pm in reply to: Change author link in post info to link to about page in parallax pro #98503donnielawMemberCan I add a link into the functions.php?
April 3, 2014 at 10:10 am in reply to: Change author link in post info to link to about page in parallax pro #98298donnielawMemberThanks Brad. So at that link I see I can add the following to functions.php to customize the entry meta:
<?php //* Do NOT include the opening php tag //* Customize the entry meta in the entry header (requires HTML5 theme support) add_filter( 'genesis_post_info', 'sp_post_info_filter' ); function sp_post_info_filter($post_info) { $post_info = '[post_date] by [post_author_posts_link] [post_comments] [post_edit]'; return $post_info; }
So if I wanted to change the name "Donnie Law" which currently links to http://donnielaw.com/author/donnie/ to http://donnielaw.com/about I know I would remove the
[post_author_posts_link]
But what would I replace it with? Just a standard link tag?
donnielawMemberPerfect! Thanks Brad. Eventually I'll figure some of this stuff out...
donnielawMemberOk so right now in my functions.php it shows
if ( is_singular( 'post' ) ) genesis_widget_area( 'after-entry', array( 'before' => '<div class="after-entry widget-area">', 'after' => '</div>', ) );
So if I change the 'post' to 'pages' that particular widget area will display on pages as well as posts? Wouldn't it remove the widget area from displaying on posts?
Should I instead create a new widget area "After Page"?
Thanks again Brad!
donnielawMemberThank you!
donnielawMemberahhh I see! Thanks so much!
I added
!important
and it all worked. Thanks again!donnielawMemberI've been searching around online but I still can't figure out the css to make the link text one color, and the tex-decoration (underline) a separate color. Any idea how to accomplish this?
donnielawMemberAwesome thank you!
It worked great once in a post (no more category displayed) but unfortunately on the main blog page with all the post excerpts the category is still showing.
Any idea how to remove the category info from the main blog page which displays all the post excerpts?
Thanks
donnielawMemberThanks Davinder.
Unfortunately that only removed the little folder icon. I don't want to display any category. What would I remove to accomplish that?
donnielawMemberAny thoughts on what to add to this to make the underline one color and the text link another color:
.entry-content a { color: #f04848; text-decoration: underline; } .entry-content a:hover { color: #1f1f1e; -webkit-transition: .6s ease; -moz-transition: .6s ease; -ms-transition: .6s ease; -o-transition: .6s ease; transition: .6s ease; }
donnielawMemberIdeally I'm trying to get my links to have an orange underline #f04848 with black #1f1f1e text. When hovered, the text will fade to orange and match the underline. It can be seen in action on http://justinjackson.ca/validate-your-startup-idea/
donnielawMemberThanks Brad.
For whatever reason, when I hover the transition works fine but it transitions to #000000 instead of #1f1f1e
Do you see anything wrong with my code above?
donnielawMemberYes! I did this and it worked:
.entry-content a { color: #f04848; text-decoration: underline; } .entry-content a:hover { color: #1f1f1e; -webkit-transition: .6s ease; -moz-transition: .6s ease; -ms-transition: .6s ease; -o-transition: .6s ease; transition: .6s ease; }
donnielawMemberDoes this make any sense?
#entry-content a { color: #f04848; text-decoration: underline; }
Would that make the underline just show up on links in the body of posts?
donnielawMemberThanks Brad!
So if I want to change the links in just the body I would use the
<div class="entry-content">
class?Would I put that before my changes in the style.css?
donnielawMemberAnyone know about this?
