Hi Brad, thank you very much for your help, I will give it a go. Megalithe template team contacted me today, they were just busy with the genesis template updates, so al is good here with their support too. 🙂
einsteinMemberHi Brad, just found a similar code which is called Isotope. but I would like to have a reputable plug in which utilises a similar code, so I don;t have to worry about future compatibility issues...
einsteinMemberHi Brad, I gave Megalithe template a go, but I am finding that there is not enough documentation to help me customise it. I am thinking of reverting to studiopress template as support is much better. I had a look at this plug inhttp://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-gallery-custom-links/screenshots/, is this the one you ment? It liiks good, but I would like to have a feature which animates the images/posts accordingto categories, just like in megalithe template, do you know of any plugins that do this? I am trying to minimise the amount of coding I have to do to achieve this. Thanks for your help! 🙂
einsteinMemberThank You for your help, I have decided to purchase a megalithe template as it was an easier solution 😉
einsteinMemberHi John, I am trying to re-create this website: http://www.margaretrivertours.com in wordpress, as you can see, there is an image gallery thee but my template which I am using does not have a wodget space in this position, so I need to insert a gallery in there some other way. Thank You!
einsteinMemberThank You, Jen!
einsteinMemberHi Doak, I like your website by the way, this is the kind of business I would like to set up. I was also wondering what ecommerce system did you use for your rose city soap shop and what is this template? I am looking to set up a similar online store and so far chose woocommerce, but there isnt a big choice of templates. Thank You!
einsteinMemberThank you, this is the best solution for me right now as I need to start developing soon! I will brush up my other skills for the future and install the server on my laptop as this is the way to go IMHO 😉
einsteinMemberI'd like to ask one more hypothetical question. If I was to install an instance of genesis studiopress wordpress website under a "secret" sub-directory on the server which is running a live html hand-coded website (with some php forms), and then develop the new website there, is there any chance that the standard development would affect the live website and is google going to index this "secret" directory? Thank You!!
einsteinMemberFor example if my client already has a live website under http://www.domain.com. When I install the wordpress on my local server on my pc, will I be able to specify a domain name, e.g http://www.domain.com? So then I don't have to change the domain name when i move the website to a new server.
einsteinMemberwow, you learn something new every day! 🙂
einsteinMemberThank you, but what's IMHO?
einsteinMemberHi, thank you for replying, you are absolutely right, i do need to work on this as well as a few other things to do with wordpress! I have only just taken it up, I've coded my websites in html and css etc before, I guess the only good software is software you know how to use! I am keen to learne everything about it and most of the time having a great support network like here is essential! 🙂
Anyways, I do not have a server running on my windows xp. I have developed a website straight on the live server before and it is a bit slow (depending on your connection. Could you point me in the right sirection as to how to be able to develop wordpress on my computer please, considering I don't know much about pc servers.
Thank You
