I think an easier way of doing what you want is to place your image in the sidebar itself using the Widgets screen. You can put the img tag into a text widget and style it from there or add a class to it. If you only want the image on the home screen then you can use a plugin like Widget Logic to specify which one(s).
essaysnarkParticipantThe genesis_sidebar hook is associated with your sidebar div, so that's where things will be positioned. If you want to position something in a different place, you probably need a different hook.
Can you post a link to your site and describe exactly what you're trying to do?
essaysnarkParticipantThis post might be a good place to start:
essaysnarkParticipantSo the problem is that the style you have defined on the textwidget class is taking precedence on all images that you place in any textwidget. What you might need to do is define a style for use on those little flower accent images and take the float: left off of the textwidget level. I tried playing with things like the !important tag on the book class that you have and couldn't get it to work based on the current hierarchy. Sorry that I didn't have an easy answer for you! I'm no CSS whiz so maybe someone else will pop in and see the solution.
essaysnarkParticipantSorry - wait - that's going to mess up the other layout you've got with the little accent images. Let me look at this for a moment.
essaysnarkParticipantLooks like you have a style defined like this:
.textwidget img { float: left; margin-right: 5px; }
That float: left is causing the problem. Delete that and you should be good.
essaysnarkParticipantAssuming you're talking about the book cover image and the "click to buy" Amazon link, you can just put this under the image:
<br clear="all">
For centering, you should be able to use this:
<p style="text-align:center;"> Your text here. </p>
Also there's no "close image" tag - this is not actually valid HTML:
</img>
If you want to "close" the img tag you can put a/>
at the end of it.essaysnarkParticipantWhat's your site? It would be helpful to see where you're at with things.
There's some very nice free background textures here - including this page of gray ones: http://subtlepatterns.com/?s=gray
essaysnarkParticipantAlso to answer your original question: You can insert custom PHP code in any template file - before the genesis() function - here's a simple tutorial that shows how (which happens to load some videos too):
essaysnarkParticipant@bionary, what is the behavior that you want, exactly?
In WordPress, you can just put the URL to a YouTube video directly in a post or page (using the text editor) and it'll load the player right there, with no iframe or special coding required. It won't start playing the video automatically when the page is loaded though. Is that what you are trying to do?
essaysnarkParticipant@gwhite, in eleven 40 Pro, I'm pretty sure you can get a single column home page by just deleting the file home.php from your theme directory, provided you haven't done any other home page specific customizations there. If you have, then you will need to delete the Genesis grid loop part of the code as Lauren suggested (leave the genesis() part though at the bottom).
essaysnarkParticipantThat bug was supposedly fixed in 3.9.1 though there are some reports of similar issues still remaining when themes are being upgraded in conjunction with a WP upgrade.
essaysnarkParticipant@Focused.1, it looks to me that when you uploaded the image http://redlineautomotivegroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Staffed-automotive-sales-event-company.jpg which is 1,140px ?— 350px, it somehow got resized in WP to 428px ?— 181px and saved as http://redlineautomotivegroup.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Staffed-automotive-sales-event-company-428x181.jpg. Try setting up the slider with the URL to the original image (or maybe re-upload if that's easier).
essaysnarkParticipantThis tutorial might also be helpful:

It sounds like either your sidebar isn't registered properly, and/or you haven't placed anything in it in the Widgets area (some themes suppress the sidebar when it's empty; not sure if the default Genesis theme does that or not).

Help appreciated! #104285essaysnarkParticipantIf the host is using cacheing then you will need to contact them about it. Their website may give you info on it or send in a ticket to their support system for help.
However maybe it's something else? I have no idea how a pre-Genesis site like that is constructed but my guess based on your description is that these phone numbers might be hard-coded into more than one page. There are different phone numbers showing on your home page as on the About page. In Genesis, stuff in the sidebar would be set up using the Appearance -> Widgets screen but it sounds like that's not the case for you. Did you check there as a possibility? The other thing to look at is if there is a home.php or other PHP pages that have the phone numbers in them.
It may just be coincidence that the changes you're making on these two sites aren't showing up; the cause of each could be quite different. The main common cause would be caching, otherwise these could need to be investigated separately.
essaysnarkParticipantThere have been lots of changes to the WP editor in recent updates and many plugin developers have not caught up with them yet. You will likely have better luck seeking help for your issue on the developer's support forums.
essaysnarkParticipantYour English is good! 🙂
You might want to look into David Decker's Widgetized Archive Pages plugins for Genesis to help you set the category archives up:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-widgetized-archive/
If that doesn't do what you need, then please come back and I can try suggesting other things for what you want.
essaysnarkParticipantTurn Key is a third-party product so you will likely have better luck posting any problems over in that developer's forums:
essaysnarkParticipantNot sure if you still have a question or not? If so could you please state it again, and also post a link to your site where you're trying to implement it.
For easy changes to layout/look-and-feel of archives, you can try David Decker's Widgetized Archives Page plugin:

Also it would be helpful to get links to the respective sites in order to see what you're seeing.
The first thing that I'd suspect with behavior like this is caching. Do you use caching plugins on these sites and/or does your host?
