    The link provided by Genwrock did it for me!
    I’m using the Genesis Favicon Uploader (even though it scares me because it hasn’t been recently updated according to the details)

    I’ve usually used a 16×16 favicon. The link said 32×32, so I tried that and SchZAM, it worked!

    This was after I had pestered the host due to managed WP hosting and support who claimed they couldn’t see the ftp stuff either. I thought about calling support back with the answer, but then….nah. Just let it go.

    The plugin is a permanent crutch; you cannot deactivate it or your favicon goes down.

    Thank you so much for asking and answering this question! I was just wondering this week about how to work some gradients into themes.

    Tom, I followed the instructions at the link mentioned above. http://wpsites.net/web-design/customize-lifestyle-pro-theme-header-image-area/
    I made the changes in the Theme functions and clicked ‘update file’. The changes don’t ‘take’. The numbers do not change in the functions file, so then they don’t change at the header either. I just tried again and got a typical ‘error’ behavior. When I clicked on ‘Update File’, the screen bounces to the home page, just as it will when a plugin won’t update.

    Test domain: http://artists.barjd.com

    LifeStyle Pro will permit me to increase the Title and Description font size and center it so that I could get something that works for the client without creating a full width header image. This way we can preserve the responsive aspects and give him a ‘look’ that he wants. (Not the test site)

    To get different colors and add borders, etc., I selected one of the color options and changed the hex numbers within it using the custom css.

    I’ve been trying Brad’s instructions, but I cannot get the function numbers to ‘hold’ when I change them and click on update.

    Al, were you able to get this worked out? Could you show us your website if you did and tell a little more about how it worked for you?

    I like Soliloquy and want to do the same thing you do with the background image.

    Thank you, AnitaC! The lights came on in my head today and I was able to get the Agent Press Listing plugin to work in the widget bar that was giving me trouble.

    I have downloaded your Pristine theme and will be working on getting familiar with it as well. I had it first — your generosity was the inspiration for this test subdomain. I’m reluctant to use themes on new installations which are in the update queue because the changes make more hurdles to jump. I’m a card carrying couch potato — I don’t do hurdles!

    Have a wonderful day and thank you again for all of your help.

    Fortiment, I just ran into this with several other themes. Earlier, some images did come. To get the effect I want for a demo/sandbox site, I’m measuring the demo images and will be adding my own. Am working with Ambiance theme and Magazine today.

    I found a plugin that lets me put the images in the navigation tabs. I’m working with the size and padding now to get the look I want. It is called Nav Menu Images

    Editing. Actually the size was fine, I had my browser zoomed in so I could read the fine print. When I went back to normal, I’m happy with a 50×50 house image.

    I’m trying this on the link site. I retrieved your image and sized mine to match.
    House
    I have added the code to the edit css area and have an error sign at the last line `#nav li.home a {
    background: url(images/housey2-20.png) no-repeat scroll 2px 2px transparent;
    padding: 8px 20px;
    text-indent: -9999px;
    }`

    Thank you. I just saw this on another site this morning and want to do it. All of the other online directions are old.

    Thank you for the reminder, scoe! That applies to all those little footer widgets — “I knew that.!” said some earlier stand-up comedians. And I forgot. The first time I realized it made a difference was when someone else in another group was pleading for help and we ‘fell into’ the solution.

    Additionally the same day, I saw the same answer for another theme on this forum.

    Thank you, Marcy. That worked in the css stylesheet editor perfectly.

    Now, if I am near the area where I can change the title font color.

    RESOLVED I forgot the axiom that something must be in the footer 1 widget first to have things display in the other footers.

    Herb, the widget page has the footer spots open, but they won’t work for me. I put that slider into the hook which isn’t divided into three sections.

    I would rather be able to have the footers and use a widget slider.

    A very efficient suggestion about the updates.
    I also love the possibility having the updates come to the use location as other updates do.
