jbuxton61MemberDorian,
I went through the website again & even on category 9 single posts - which do not have the widget area, the Theme Settings SEO for Genesis are not working. The title tag is the blog post name no matter what is in the Theme Settings for the post and no Meta Descriptions ever post.
Many Thanks
-Jeffjbuxton61MemberDorian,
Thank you for taking a look at my problem. I agree that the site is complex. The thought process is for potential clients to be able to drill down through product categories to find the final product that they need. Sort of works like a decision tree.
You are correct regarding the setup. I modified the single.php in the child theme to add a widget area below the single post. If it is in category 9, blog posts, it does not create the singlepost widget area
#########
<?php
/*
Modified Single Post
*/$post = $wp_query->post;
if ( in_category('9') ) {
/** add the post info function */
add_action( 'genesis_after_post_content', 'genesis_post_meta' );
genesis(); }else {
/** Remove the post info function */
remove_action( 'genesis_before_post_content', 'genesis_post_info' );/** Remove the post info function */
remove_action( 'genesis_after_post_content', 'genesis_post_meta' );add_action( 'genesis_after_post_content', 'child_singlepostwidget_add' );
/** Add widget area to Grid Page under the menu */function child_singlepostwidget_add() {
echo '<div id="singlepostwidget"><div class="wrap">';
dynamic_sidebar( 'singlepostwidget' );
echo '</div></div><!-- end #singlepostwidget -->';
}
genesis();
}
####################I use a plugin - "Display Widgets" by Strategy11 to turn on/off the widgets for specific posts/categories.
I tried what you suggested - moving the widget out, refreshing my cache and looked at the Meta Title Tag & Meta Description Tag. They still did not work. The title tag was the post name & there was no description - The Genesis SEO Theme settings still did not work.
