I guess the timing is part of it Anita. I’m in Australia so that will often mean there’s no-one line here when I am. But I have noticed many times that responses here do show up long before I get them by email.  I leave the browser tab open, refresh and find an answer and when I check my email it’s still not there.

I would love to be able to see forum responses to themes – like the old forum. This one I spend a LOT more time doing searches trying to find out if someone has asked the same question as me before I post it. In the old forum I could simply search threads for a particular theme.

Thanks Anita, I will give that one a go.  And yes, I’ll let you know how it works out!

How do I find out how to do the coding please Brad?  I’ll need to be doing this for every post I do – and that’s usually several times a week. So is it a code in the css or function.php or per post?  The second option is probably the best one, so that the first image for each post is used. Although I guess either will be fine.

The key thing I need to know, though, is how to make an image a featured image if I’m using an embedded code from Flickr. I don’t want to be uploading images to host on my site.

I remember seeing, at one time, an option to make an image a featured image in the edit window for images. But it’s not there. I’m using WP 3.5.1 so don’t know if it’s been removed, or whether it’s not available because I used embedded code for my images, rather than uploading to my site.

And yes, it’s still chugging along. Just heard its whistle – the dinner train is out tonight.

I’m afraid that hasn’t worked as I wanted it. The blog page now has the sidebar but so has all the other pages. In the about page I don’t want the sidebar and I’ve got the layout selected on that page to be without sidebars and updated it, but it’s still showing with a sidebar.

So I’m stuck now as I’m not sure what to do.

Thanks ModernMuse.  I’ve been fine on other themes but finding this one a challenge. Determined to get it working how I want it.

That’s always the challenge – never just one place to change these things.

So, I need to change it there but then it will change all my other pages? I want to be able to choose one for the blog page but have different for other pages? I thought that’s why we could do that on the individual pages?

No, don’t contact your bank. You need to go to the Get help section in My Studiopress top right hand corner of this screen. That’s not fair to the people if you go to your bank, without giving them a chance here to sort out your problem.

Norman, have you looked at the instructions on how to use it?  I found the themes a bit confusing at first, but now love them and learn something new with each one.  Perhaps if you go to My Studiopress/Downloads/Get Started and go through that first, and then come back here to ask questions or click on ‘Get Help’.  Everyone has always been so helpful.

Thanks for the offer Anne, but I think I’ll just go find another mobile responsive theme.  The client wants me to get it done asap at minimal cost to him :-)

Thank you for that. I’ve found another theme that will probably do the trick. Client likes the colours of this theme but mobile responsive is now being advised by his mentor. So off to sort that out!

Anything further to this? I’m using this theme for a client. I can view the site ok on my mobile phone, i.e. it’s not spread out or anything. But he’s had a tech come along and say it’s not mobile responsive and now he wants it fixed. Haven’t got any idea how to get started on that.

I’m looking to do the same thing but find that the luscious theme doesn’t have a home.php file to put the second part to hook the featured widget as listed at http://www.briangardner.com/home-widget-area-eleven40/

Trying to figure out what else I can do.  Unfortunately just adding the first part made the site go white, invisible, even after removing the code.

The site I’m trying to do this to is http://redlandcityliving.com/

Thank you so much. I couldn’t work out where it was getting its colour from if there wasn’t a line with the colour in it. I had seen the bit with the font size and style. I’ve added the colour.  It’s now working. Thank you once again.
