Don't hold your breath. Everyone wanting an updated agentpress has been waiting for over a year now only to see month after month with yet another generic theme for those that already have many to choose from. I've given up. You should too. It is painfully clear that updating agentpress is simply not a priority. At all. Pay somebody to build it for you.
kayacheMemberWow, one of the fastest loading sites that I've seen. Especially with the number of graphics a few pages have. You should start a thread and describe the steps you took to get it that fast. I would definitely like to know.
Just a small point, when your site page is resized down a bit, the last two menu items (Travel Tips and Contact Me) are white text that wraps onto a white background. Other than that it all looks great!
kayacheMemberJoseph, you said the following in post #20411:
"Your site’s structure (internal link) is perfect. It’s getting indexed on every single listing w/o bringing the page rank on your main site down. I admit, when you have the listings ON your site (literally) you can pull too much PR out of page easily if you don’t know what you are doing."
Could you elaborate, I don't quite understand what you are saying. The big downside I see to having a subdomain serve up search results rather than having it all on the primary domain, is that the Page Rank is split with each accruing their own. I would rather have one site on page one of the SERPS rather than two on the second page. So, having a subdomain with indexed pages only gives page rank to the subdomain (right?). That isn't helping me get my main site to the top of the SERPS.
I understand that with IDXbroker's service longtail address searches will be indexed and perhaps show on the first page (until everybody is doing it), but I'm more concerned to get my primary domain on the first page. This thread is virtually the only detailed discussion anywhere on the pros and cons of subdomained IDX so I am glad to see it discussed here.
By the way, having witnessed several RETS implementations, I will be using IDX Broker rather than a RETS solution simply because the amount of custom development and setup required is a literally one tenth the time and money. But I think I will always wish for a single domain solution and one day will have a RETS solution.
March 27, 2013 at 10:25 pm in reply to: Agentpress – When will it finally be responsive? An unhappy customer :-( #31667kayacheMemberHere is why this is frustrating; most people searching for a responsive theme can already realistically choose between several existing responsive themes that will work fine for their needs. And every month the new responsive them that comes out just gives them yet one more option to choose from.
But real estate agents like me have this one single theme, Agentpress, to use (without having to customize one of the other themes as mentioned). So it is pretty depressing to see, month after month, yet one more responsive theme as an additional option for those that already have several that they can realistically choose from.
I bet five bucks that users of the next new responsive theme already have at least one existing viable option for a responsive theme. But us poor agentpress users continue to have to wait. how does this make sense?
