Hi Susan,
Yes, I got them back. I *think* it might have been a non-closed tag that wiped them all out. I have since checked the code for accuracy and now my text widgets seem to be staying put, even when editing them -- which was previously the problem. So, yes, this can be closed.
Thanks,
Lisa

I just tried what you suggested and still does the same thing. I drag the widget to Primary Sidebar, gave it a title, selected posts and my category, clicked save and tried viewing homepage. Nothing appears. Then if I navigate back to the Widgets page in admin panel, and open my Primary sidebar the GFWA is not even there.
Very strange.
April 23, 2013 at 9:53 am in reply to: Genesis Featured Widget Amplified plugin won't stay when I add to my sidebar #37159lisa.burgessMemberHi Nick,
If I disable the GFWA plugin, I can still add other widgets to a sidebar and they will work fine -- for example, text widget or Genesis Featured Page.
But once I activate GFWA and try to add it to a sidebar, it will let me select the category of posts I want to display, when I click save, it "appears" to save, but never shows up on the page. If I navigate off of the widgets page and come back and open my sidebar, the GFWA widget that I added disappears. So it seems like it never really saves anything.
Something else weird is that when i drag the GFWA to my sidebar, .. if i try to select Pages ... the list of pages never shows up, which leads me to believe something just isnt working right at all.
I've never had a problem like this with this plugin .. .i usually uses it on all of the sites i create.

And yes, other widgets work fine, just not GFWA. I can add text widget, Genesis Featured page, etc. But I need more options than just the regular featured page.
I have never come across this before in all of the genesis installs I've done. ... and i always use GFWA.

April 23, 2013 at 8:31 am in reply to: Genesis Featured Widget Amplified plugin won't stay when I add to my sidebar #37138lisa.burgessMemberHi Carrie,
I did deactivate all of the plugins and still this happens. It is so weird because when I drag the GFWA widget into my sidebar and give it the parameters I want such as to display posts, when I click "Save" it seems to "save" so quickly, almost like it really isn't saving. So then if i go and preview the home page and then return to the dashboard and open my sidebar, the widget is gone.
I tried removing the GFWA plugin and reinstalling and still does the same thing. So strange. Any other ideas?

lisa.burgessMemberOh my gosh! Thank you Jen!
That did it! I *will* get the hang of updating the responsive CSS! I truly appreciate your help on this. No more right side of page cut off.

lisa.burgessMemberI have tried this and it fixes the display issues for iPad portrait, but still the landscape view is chopped off on the right. Any other ideas as to why this is happening?
Thanks so much for all of your help!

lisa.burgessMemberHello Jen,
Under the responsive CSS (1200px), I have this:
#header,
#slider,
#main,
#footer-widgets,
#footer,
#page-title,
#page-title .wrap{
max-width: 960px;
margin: 0 auto;}But, still the right side of everything from the header nav, home-featured, footer-widgets, footer are all cut off on the right on iPad Landscape.
Any ideas?
thanks,
Lisa

December 28, 2012 at 9:19 pm in reply to: Best way to remove header, footer and slider from #wrap #8076lisa.burgessMemberHello Riavon,
The thing is that I only want full width for the #header, #slider, and #footer.
The rest of the stuff (#home-featured, #inner, and #footer-widgets) I want to be contained in a wrap so that I can lock down the width and add and left/right box-shadow border around.
any ideas on how to do this?
An alternative? I found a post in the old forum to remove the header from the #wrap here and this does work, as well as I found this which shows how to do the same for the footer, but I don't know how to remove my #slider from the #wrap.
Any thoughts?

If I take the image off of the page, then the page will shrink down properly. Anyone?
December 14, 2012 at 1:33 pm in reply to: Content spills into sidebar when browser is less than full screen, Education #5245lisa.burgessMemberOkay, I found that I needed to added width under the responsive css section.
It's mostly taken care of, but wondering if any one has had any problems with images not shrinking in Firefox.
On pages that I have a full content width image, it does not "shrink" in Firefox, where it does shrink in chrome.
See this page: http://leeheagy.com/wp/our-guiding-principles/
any ideas on this would be greatly welcomed!
