April 28, 2014 at 2:32 pm in reply to: How to Remove Transparency of Minimum Pro Header Image #102799LizParticipant
I did not find a solution to make the image on my site into something that shows above the tagline and scrolls with the page as I see on standoutbooks.com.
I DID use your recommended solution to move nav bar below the logo area, but now it scrolls off the page in desktop mode rather than remaining static, and in mobile mode it doesn't shrink to a small responsive menu,
I know that this is two different topics too. 🙁 Sorry about that.
LizParticipantHi Susan,
I never did figure this out. My site is now live, and still has the same issue.It is now at http://robinbachbodysense.com
LizParticipantIs this thread still open? The same thing has happened to one of my client sites, all I've done recently is added the Responsive Header and ithemes Security and posted two posts for her.
When I look in Appearance/widgets, the widget content is there, however on the site, the footer area does not show up at all, not even the colored background.
LizParticipantAll of a sudden the entire footer area is gone on my site. I'm using the Prose theme. The widgets are still set in Appearances. If you could share what you discovered bhpadgett, it could help the rest of us.
LizParticipantHmmm, I certainly missed that part. Having just built a site using the old Agency, I thought that I had a simple answer for you. I am unfamiliar with the amplified widget, will have to learn about it. I am NOT one of the Studiopress Whiz kids, hope that one of them answers for you. 🙁
LizParticipantI believe that you didn't check to use Featured Image in the setup of your home middle widget.
and then you need to add a featured image for each post used.
Did you grab the instructions for setting up Agency Pro when you downloaded it? This is the home middle setup sectionHow to Configure the Home Middle Widget Area
Use a Title of your choice to describe the types of posts being featured in this area
Select the category you wish to have displayed in this area
The Agency Pro Theme demo is designed to show 6 featured posts in this widget area
Check the box to display Featured Images
Select the home-middle Image Size
Select the Image Alignment option of “None”
Check the box to display Post Title
Select the Content Type of “Show Content LImit
Limit Content to 180 Characters
Use the word “More” in the More Text field
Be sure to click the “Save” button to preserve your changes.LizParticipantI did this on my site, with help, look at this thread.
January 30, 2014 at 10:46 pm in reply to: Agency Pro – remove hover on home middle for additional screen sizes #87917LizParticipantI had just posted that my middle widgets are 3 columns across with large screen, and as soon as display is reduced slightly, they go to 1 column with 6 widgets vertically. Is that the problem that you had and he fixed? Is your test site showing the fixed version?
LizParticipantI have placed both a text widget with 2 sets of 1/3 images AND put featured pages into Home Left/Middle/Right configuration. I like the look of the text widget because there is no white background (want that for other pages, just not home page). However, text widget version will not get all 3 icons in a row. The icons are not all in their rows.
I've tried changing their sizes to smaller size and they still don't align 3 to a row. I'm messing around using one image but once the coding is done, I will put 6 different images into this widget, each linked to a different page.
I'd like them in 2 rows of 3, evenly spaced across the page, preferably spaced as wide as the white background found in the middle section and the footer.
January 15, 2014 at 11:26 pm in reply to: Agency (not Pro): Add image or solid color to Nav Bar Background #85451LizParticipantThank you, just what I needed for that part of the Nav Bar.
LizParticipantThank you ... is this replacing full-width or partial-width header info?
Below is everything that i have related to header, before making the changes that you recommended.
#header {
background: url(images/header.png) repeat-y center center #090909;
background-position: center top !important;
background-color: #090909 !important;
margin: 0 auto;
min-height: 115px;
overflow: hidden;
width: 100%;
}
/* Image Header - Full Width
------------------------------------------------------------ */.header-full-width #title-area,
.header-full-width #title,
.header-full-width #title a {
width: 100%;
}/* Image Header - Partial Width
------------------------------------------------------------ */.header-image #title-area,
.header-image #title,
.header-image #title a {
background-position: center !important;
display: block;
float: left;
height: 120px;
overflow: hidden;
margin: 0;
max-width: 330px;
padding: 0;
text-indent: -9999px;
width: 100%;
}.header-image #description {
display: block;
overflow: hidden;LizParticipantOkay, this theme is officially kicking my a** and I think I'm going to choose another one of the Studiopress themes that is not the pro version, I didn't realize that there was a difference between Agency and Agency Pro, all the sites that had the look I like were with Agency and it feels like I am bending Agency pro inside out to do something that its not meant to do.
LizParticipantHmm, oddly when I put in the code you mention, nothing at all shows up. I tried it without the quote marks around the one-fourth items too and still doesn't show up. The code I had before did and it certainly does for you ...?
LizParticipantthank you, Brad. I tried this and it looked pretty much the same as leaving the home-top and home-bottom widgets empty, i.e. there is still space above the home-middle between it and the nav bar.
LizParticipantIf this is bending Agency-Pro in a direction that is more easily done with another theme, please tell me. it feels like I am not even using the coolness of Agency because I'm not using the transparency and home page sections (I now realize that the examples in the showcase we liked were with the non-pro version of Agency).
My client just wants a simple home page with the 4-5 clickable images and a video. My newest themes are Outreach, Prose, Magazine Pro, Lifestyle Pro
LizParticipantI've put the 3/4 - 1/4 in place, as well as the 4 - 1/4 sections. They are wrapping to the next line even though there is plenty of space, ideas? Test site is here http://www.passiongoddess.com/test/
I'd actually like these all to be in the same section/division (white block background) too so the two rows appear close together. Do I put them all into the same text widget?
LizParticipantI will give this 3/4 code a try, thank you!
I don't know where to ask the question below:
Can you please explain why the style.css of Agency Pro is unlike any of the other Studiopress themes I've worked on. All the knowledge I've had from working with Studiopress themes feels totally worthless when I try to do things like increase header height. there are so many extra sections in the stylesheet that I've never heard of. Is there a Studiopress guide somewhere that translates what old style = new style settings?LizParticipantI'm trying to make my header be full width and 235 px high. The style.css for Agency Pro is unlike any other Studiopress theme I've worked on and has been a huge, frustrating, learning curve. I've increased the size that i saw in functions.php and now when I go to Header upload, it offers this size. However, the header now overlaps the navigation bar and covers it completely. I changed the minimum height below and that is what caused the overlap. Does it need to be changed somewhere differently?
/* Logo, hide text */
.header-image .site-header .wrap {
padding: 0;
}.header-image .site-title a {
float: left;
min-height: 235px;
width: 100%;LizParticipantWow, Andrea, kudos and gratitude to put this all together for me.
My client was originally looking for a section with 4 small boxes/graphics, and above it, a larger box 3/4 width of the 4 boxes containing a video, and a 1/4 page width box to the right of it, containing another link to a page. I chose the Agency Pro theme because it had the look of the multiple boxes on home page. for all I know, another Genesis theme will do this more easily since I'm having to disable the home-top and home-bottom to get the static home page she wants.
when you say Genesis column classes, do I just set it up in the widget or are changes needed to any of the php files too?
Can I have 2 rows/widgets, one with a 3/4 size image and one with a 1/4 sized image?
November 17, 2013 at 2:54 pm in reply to: [AgencyPro] Quantity and Layout of Home Middle Widgets #73810LizParticipantSo I'd replace the whole section registered under the name of home-middle with "home middle left, home middle middle, home middle middle 2, and home middle right"?
