October 21, 2016 at 2:35 am in reply to: How to remove responsive-menu-icon from Ambiance Pro Theme? #195140malycomMember
Hi
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, it's not working as intended.
I'm still seeing a normal menu on mobile devices when I want to see normal menu on Desktop and responsive menu on mobile.
Any ideas?
Thanks
malycomMemberOk, I've removed Gravatar from functions.php so question 3 is now answered.
A new question 3 though, how can I get drop down menus? What you are seeing in the menu should have a drop down on the about link with two further sub menus.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply.
That's a great resource but I'm still struggling to work it out.
I now have a menu icon where I want it to be but when I click on it the icon moes along to the centre of the page, with the menu item on the far left of the page. Not sure what's happening there.
I can't see anything in CSS which is saying right, everything is now saying left......I think.
Thanks

I mean, I know these go into functions.php but not sure how to say have these directly below the header at the top of the content area or in the sidebar etc.
Do you have any further info?
Thanks anyway
MalcolmmalycomMemberTry changing width to 100% instead og 600 so it would look something like width="100%" height="450" - Change height to wahtever.

malycomMemberI thought that but the image I uploaded was exactly the correct dimensions.
The lutea image is resized from a larger image.
I will try it again though just in case I am wrong.
Cheers
MalcolmmalycomMemberSorry, meant to put a link.
The image that is dull is on maldavidson.com/lutea
An example of how it should look is at http://www.lutea.com
Thanks for looking.

malycomMemberHi
THanks for the reply
I don't see anywhere in the CSS file that is reducing the opacity of anythign at all, let alone the header.
That's exactly how the image seems though. Reduced opacity. Not in a non hover state though. It's like that ALL states.
Cheers
MalcolmmalycomMemberThanks for the help but on looking at it, the site doesn't lend itself to this background without other changes.
Thank you very much anyway.

Thanks for the help but not quite what I meant.
I meant from the top of the site to the bottom, not just the sides of the nav bar. I merely meant the sides of the site.
Is this possible?
Thanks for the help though.

October 26, 2014 at 11:40 am in reply to: Change text colour on menu item in Modern Portfolio Pro #129301malycomMemberHi Brad
The link to the site is http://www.graciebarraci.com which is a long way from complete.
Thanks
MalcolmmalycomMemberJust in case anyone else has the same question, I have had to do a long winded route but it works. Not saying it's a best or even good option but it does whaty I need.
For all the pages I want to hide the title and move the text up, I find the page id number, in the example id 122, and add this to the style sheet
.page-id-122 .entry-header {
display: none;
}This means there is no page title and title area in the page but it is still there in the search results page allowing people to click to the full artile if they have done a search on your site.
I would still prefer a better and easier method if anyone can help.
malycomMemberCan anyone help with this?
malycomMemberHi Brad, can you tell me why it's not a good idea? Does it cause problems for ths site at all? Personally it's not what I would do either but it isn't for me and I have been asked to do this.
I have found that by the following .entry-header { display: none; } , I get rid of that whole bit of the post or page which is what I have been asked to do but the content still seem a little low compared to widgets in side bar.
Could you tell me where to find the padding or margin settings to raise the content?
Many thanks
malycomMemberThanks so much for your help - Much better 🙂
malycomMemberAnyone? It's quite important so any help is greatly appreciated.
