I think I resolved this. And just in case anybody else has the same problem in the future and comes across this thread, here is my solution. (It was very simple, I just needed to take a break from code for a minute and come back to it)
I took the "left:485px" out because this was making it stay 485px from the left side of the screen, not the container instead of positioning with the container. And then adjusted the margin instead. See below...
Here is the code before:
#nav { clear: both; color: #6db9ae; margin: 0 0 10px; text-transform: uppercase; width: 665px; position:absolute; top:200px; left:485px; }
Here is the code afterwards:
#nav { clear: both; color: #6db9ae; margin: 0px 400px 10px; text-transform: uppercase; width: 665px; position: absolute; top:175px; }
NRayMemberI know I can change the positioning of the menus with this code
#nav { clear: both; color: #6db9ae; margin: 0 0 10px; text-transform: uppercase; width: 665px; position:absolute; top:200px; left:485px; }
But isn't there a way to position it in a specific spot no matter the resolution size or browser window size. Because right now it moves depending on those which throws it off of where it needs to be.
NRayMemberI got this one resolved. It was another snippet of code pertaining to the loop/grid in the home.php file if anyone else comes across this problem.
NRayMemberYou can see a sample where I'm working at http://dev.exhaustedmommy.com/blog/
I'm not using a widget, just the main home page of the blog that shows the latest posts, I would like it to show the full post content instead of the excerpts.
NRayMemberThe drop down seems to be working on IE but not on Firefox. I have tried everything I can find on this issue, but cannot seem to fix it. Anyone else have any suggestions?
NRayMemberCan anyone else check this for me and tell me if the drop down items are working? It is not working on my end and I need to make sure my visitors can navigate through my categories ASAP.
Thank you in advance!
NRayMemberI actually haven't fixed it, it is still not working for me. Can I ask what browser you are using?
NRayMemberYou can actually do this directly in the WordPress Dashboard. On the left click on the Genesis Tab > SEO Options. Then you can edit your Home Page Description right there.
NRayMemberWhen you go to the WordPress Dashboard > Apperance > Menus... You select your menu on the right, On each item in your menu there is a small arrow in the top right corner, click that for the details to drop down. You can then edit the Label (how the menu item displays on your site) and the URL (the page it points to.) Edit this the way you need it and insert the URL addresses in as needed.
Did you add your pages through the "Pages" Box on the left, or the "Custom Links Box"? If you didn't use the Pages options, this would be easier. Be sure to click the View All tab inside the box, then check the pages you want to add, once they load into your menu you can arrange them in the correct order you need. For drop down items, move the item slightly to the right under it's parent category.
Hope this helps!
NRayMemberI figured this one out, believe it or not it was a very simple syntax problem I had missed. It's amazing how such simple things can throw your theme so out of whack. For anyone else who stumbles on this problem, no matter how much you think you have everything right, always check this first, and again being they are so easy to overlook.
Thank you for trying to help anitac.
Marked Resolved.
NRayMemberThey are both the same genesis.
NRayMemberI have already removed all widgets except the few in the primary sidebar. Is this something I need to do with the code? I have done as much trial and error I can think of with the content-sidebar-wrap widths and such, but I was hoping someone with a fresh set of eyes could shine some light on this. Maybe catch something I am missing after working on it so long, or point me in the right direction of where to start anyways.
