You should have any themes you purchases in your MystudioPress account for download.

The only way to start learning how to customize your themes is to just jump in I use http://getfirebug.com/ to source most pages I view it will help to locate all the different part of your theme and anyone elses for that matter. Most of the things you’ve mentioned can be changed by accessing your style.css.

Just make sure you keep a backup and you’ll be fine

I think it’s looking the way it is because you’re not completely finished and needs ajusting as far as your widgets go. Things don’t seems to be ligning up.

Unless you are a coder and can convert your theme over to be responsive I would suggest just picking a responsive theme from the many that StudioPress provides because it will save to time.

I see this happening a lot when using the Genesis slider and most of the times this is caused by not having the correct sizes for each image you put in the slider.

Place the following codes in your Landing page template php, this will remove the header from showing on your landing page.
remove_action( ‘genesis_header’, ‘genesis_header_markup_open’, 5 );
remove_action( ‘genesis_header’, ‘genesis_do_header’ );
remove_action( ‘genesis_header’, ‘genesis_header_markup_close’, 15 );
I would just create a sub domain and build on that and when your ready just lauch it. I mean all you would need to do is install the theme and replace the old with the new, then transfer the settings over to the old site and your done.

Access your style.css file ane look for the following codes, were you see ( line-height:1.625 ) reduce the number to 0.625 and see if that helps.
body {
color: #333;
font-family: ‘Roboto Slab’, serif;
font-size: 16px;
font-size: 1.6rem;
font-weight: 300;
line-height: 1.625;
