I with Brad, it’s no fun if you have to wait on someone to enjoy your hosting account. I use Hostgator and love them.

    Yes every time I do any editing sometimes two to three times a week it’s a habit. I’ve never had any problems. I also run backups from my cpanel it makes it easier if you need your work restored by your hosting provider they will not charge you if you have your own backups.

    But I make so many changes I am always backuping up my content.

    The best practice is to just keep a copy of your Style.css and function.php files and so on. I edit my files each and everyday and sometimes break things but as long and you have your backups you will be ok.

    Keep in mind if for any reason you break lets say, your function.php file because of someting you changed and you try accessing your WordPress dashboard and you get that ERROR – message you can always access your files from your cpanel with any problems and just remove any bad coding you may have added and your website will begin working.

    Hope this help

    I’m not really sure I follow you, why not edit in your WordPress dashboard?

    After looking at your page it looks like you need to make the changes to remove the underline from the following CSS.
.sidebar a {
    color: #fff;
    text-decoration: underline;
Well I’ve never encountered anything like this and I have tons on images, it sounds like a hosting problem and they should correct this for you. Most of my images are stored in my Media Library and all seems ok.

    I think it’s safe to say each Genesis themes had differents functions including the widgets, Each time you activate a new Studiopress themes you will have to do some ajusting according to that theme.

    When you switch themes the current widgets should be held below in the widget section or it might say someting like inactive widgets. You should be able to just drag then in to the widgets of your choice.

    You can always test out new themes and as long and you don’t make to many changes you can see how things work.
