Hi,
Thanks. The problem is that the current page/post item is placed right in the breadcrumbs div. So while I can target the links and the breadcrumb div in general, I can't find a way to target the text used for the current breadcrumbs item.
I tried styling the complete div but that doesn't work 100% when you combine margin, padding and different background colors...
To clarify, this is how my breadcrumbs look (the default Genesis breadcrumbs):
<div class="breadcrumb"><span class="sep">›</span> <a href="...">Link 1</a> <span class="sep">›</span> <a href="...">Link 3</a> <span class="sep">›</span> Current item</div>
I want to assign "Current item" its own background, padding and margin...

Thomasstl99MemberHi David,
I know, it's just that with Studiopress I thought (hoped) that at some point the mobile menu would be introduced....
In the end, the most reliable solution would be one that is standard for all official themes and therefore tested regularly by thousands of active users.
The thing that makes me hesitant the most is actually that Studiopress hasn't introduced a real mobile menu so far or announced one. The toggle menus used for some themes aren't really that great and seem to make problems for a lot of people/browsers.
So basically: as Studiopress doesn't introduce a real mobile menu, is there actually a reliable solution available yet...?
I rather have a dropdown than a buggy mobile menu that only works for some users or is a pain to use..

Thomasstl99MemberHi Dave,
Thanks a lot for your reply, fortunately there was one developer who could do it after all 😉

Thomasstl99MemberThis is what I actually mean:
🙂
stl99MemberTo clarify: I'm not referring to the layout settings meta box on the edit page/post pages but rather on the all pages/posts overview pages where you can sort by columns...

Thomasstl99MemberWhile I love my own framework I do love things tested by as many as possible people - that's why I avoid the "real" custom stuff 🙂
Thanks though...
stl99MemberDavid,
I heavily customized my own version of Genesis so I'd love to use it as foundation. Actually the StudioPress guys are working on a pinterest-style theme but that's not coming any time soon, at least that's what they told me today...

Thomasstl99MemberHi David,
Thanks for the detailed review!
Pinboard looks nice too but it actually has only 4/5 stars and the demo site is currently down...

I think it would be easier to send you the complete modified plugin. I do however need to ask my dev first if he's OK with this as he programmed it after all.
Maybe it's even better to give you his contact details - are you interested in this?

I let my developer create a modified version of the plugin in order to achieve that. There're some other modifications but this part of the code should basically provide what you're looking for:
</ul><!-- end ul.slides --> <ul class="category-nav"> <?php $index = 0; while ( $slider_posts->have_posts() ) : $slider_posts->the_post(); ?> <li class="tab<?php echo $index; ?>"> <a>> <?php $custom_tab_title = get_post_meta( get_the_ID(), 'featured_slider_tab_title', true ); if ( $custom_tab_title ) { echo $custom_tab_title; } else { $categories = get_the_category(); echo $categories[0]->name; } ?> </a> </li> <?php $index++; endwhile; ?> </ul> </div><!-- end .flexslider --> </div><!-- end #genesis-responsive-slider -->

I already did that but there're actually very few plugins which can do that and these plugins don't work very reliable.
I'll try to modify the Genesis Tabs Widget myself then..
Cheers,
Thomasstl99MemberI'm experiencing this as well: Images with a caption aren't responsive and break the layout.
Any solution yet?
Cheers,
Thomasstl99MemberI'm a bit lost here: I tried echo do_shortcode but it messes up the styling of the author box.
Aren't StudioPress shortcodes to work, well, as shortcodes inside the theme...?
Cheers,
Thomasstl99MemberHi there,
I'm not using a text widget, just the StudioPress code snippet (with the shortcode instead of the Text "About the Author") added to my functions file 🙂

Thomasstl99MemberHi there,
Thanks for the reply.
I actually switched back to the Genesis Slider as other free and premium sliders weren't working as expected. Also I prefer to use the official Genesis plugins in order to avoid bad code.
Cheers,
Thomasstl99MemberHi there,
It's actually a code snippet from that StudioPress snippets page except that I'm using a shortcode in place of simple text...
Cheers,
Thomasstl99MemberThanks, that finally worked!
stl99MemberThanks for your help and last question:
I definitely have to insert the title for each category manually? Is there no way to have the category title automatically returned and only the description inserted manually?
Cheers,
