Yes - you would need to make the changes in your stylesheet.
This visual markup guide should help you make sure you have all the relevant areas captured.
SusanModeratorThis has been marked as resolved - were you able to resolve your issue?
To answer the question in case anyone else has the same question: Yes, you can change a theme on an existing website. You just need to install a new theme, through your Dashboard.
SusanModeratorHi, Roger:
I've not used this plugin, but since no-one else has responded to your question yet, I suggest that you head over to Yoast's site, and ask over there:
SusanModeratorAre you talking about something that's NOT currently on your site? I'm seeing a 1080 x 150 header image on there. You can resize the header without changing the actual size of the "Noah's Dad" part of it - you have a lot of transparent space in that header, so cropping it to upload smaller sizes should not be an issue for the plugin.
SusanModeratorYou're welcome. I will go ahead and close this thread as "resolved" - go ahead and start another thread if you have another question!
SusanModeratorTry the Genesis Responsive Header plugin - it allows you to add different size header images so that it looks good on all mobile devices.
SusanModerator1. The Pro package does include any future updates of Genesis, and any child themes (other than the community marketplace themes). It also includes any new child themes added.
2. Once you have installed Genesis and a child theme for the first time, you have the ability to check a box in your dashboard (Genesis > Theme Settings) to automatically upgrade to the latest version of Genesis, or you can be notified by e-mail when there is a new version, so that you have the choice whether to upgrade as soon as the latest version comes out.
Welcome to Genesis!
SusanModeratorRick - sorry - I can't access your site from where I am at the moment to take an actual look, but the Genesis Responsive Header allows you to upload your header in the different sizes. For example, it may look fine without being resized if you're viewing it on an iPad, so you don't necessarily need to upload one for that size device, but you may want to upload a header which will work with an iPhone or other cell phone.
SusanModeratorI recommend the Genesis Responsive Header - it allows you to set your image size for the various size mobile devices.

There is no theme specific forums.

SusanModeratorYou're welcome - I'm glad you got it resolved. I will close this thread as "resolved".
SusanModeratorTry this thread: How to add an image logo
SusanModeratorIt doesn't look like the theme has a specific size, but in the stylesheet, it's indicating a minimum height of 100px.
/* Header ------------------------------------------------------------ */ #header { background: url(images/bg-header.png); border-bottom: 5px solid #c61a1a; min-height: 100px; }
May 12, 2013 at 5:48 am in reply to: Metro Theme: tagline not visible; site title too long for iphone? #40545SusanModeratorI do not understand what kay9 wrote: 1. for the tagline, the code will say “removes the description”. Then it will be that line of code.
In your theme functions file, remove this:
// Remove the site description remove_action( 'genesis_site_description', 'genesis_seo_site_description' );
SusanModeratorNice site - I think the only suggestion I would make is to replace that green subscribe button with a blue one to match your other buttons on the home page.
I like the red in the social media buttons icons, but you don't have red anywhere else on the site, so I'd be inclined to either change them to the blue to match the buttons *or* make the buttons site wide be that red. Just a thought.
SusanModeratorYou would only use one snippet. One is to remove the post meta completely; the other is to modify it.
There is no opening php tag in either of those snippets, so just ignore that comment.
SusanModeratorTerri - I didn't see it as a slam on Woo; I felt it was appropriate to open it up so that the person who was assisting the original poster could get some insight into whether the issue had been resolved.
Thanks for letting us know who assisted - it's great to have referrals to resources who can help the StudioPress community.
SusanModeratorGlad it worked! I'll close this as "resolved". Go ahead and start a new thread if you have another question.
SusanModeratorPut a text widget in the header right area (there is a search bar there on the demo), and add the mailto: link in there...
