Chris - since you were involved in assisting the original poster, I have edited the "private" posts.
The point of private posts is to provide a link to information you don't wish to be made available to the public, or for troubleshooting when the issue needs to remain private. That was not the case here.
SusanModeratorI'm glad you got your issue resolved!
I would post in the Legacy forum however, I can not find my receipt from when I purchased the theme.
There are no separate theme support forums, so you asked in the right place ๐
SusanModeratorWelcome to the challenge!
SusanModeratorIt looks like your double quotes are not rendering correctly - they may be rendering as curly quotes, rather than plain quotes. You will want to make sure you copy and paste the code snippet as plain text, with no formatting, otherwise you could easily bring your site down (as you have discovered).
The easiest solution is to remove the code snippet from your functions file to get your site back up and running, and then install the simple edits plugin.SusanModeratorYeah, just covering my backside, in case someone sees this a year from now, and says "But Susan said..." ๐
SusanModeratorDisclaimer: I don't work for StudioPress ๐
It is my understanding that the retired themes will continue to work as long as you continue to keep WP and Genesis updated - part of the reason themes are retired is that technology changes, so themes (for example) that are not responsive either need to be updated or retired. I think as we move more towards incorporating HTML 5, you will see more themes being retired, as the code will eventually need to be updated if you want to stay current with new technology.
I hope that helps clarify. There is no definitive answer guaranteeing that a theme will work for a certain period into the future, because who knows what new technologies will come down the pipe (oh, to have a crystal ball!)

SusanModeratorI customize and create sites, but have not developed any of my own child themes for sale to the public. ๐
The community marketplace theme developers provide their own support (whether it be a forum or e-mail support). Like the StudioPress help portal, the community theme support is generally for set-up or technical issues. People who have purchased the community themes should seek support from the theme developers, but anyone is welcome to post their customization questions on this forum, as it is a community forum, and not "official" StudioPress support.
I provide support for the Pretty Darn Cute themes (Modern Blogger, Adorable and MomPreneur) and for the Restored316 themes (Craftiness, Inspired, Vintage). Both of those theme developers use an e-mail support system.
Anita provides support for the EightCrazy themes (Innov8tive, Fabric8ted and a couple of others - sorry, Anita - I can't remember them all off the top of my head). Support for those themes is provided via both e-mail and a forum that the theme developer has created.
SusanModeratorBoth Anita and I provide support for some of the community marketplace themes, and based on the number of questions we receive from users each day, each of those community themes are popular, so if you are interested in creating and selling your own child themes, I wouldn't look at it with the view that "only 10 clients" will purchase this theme. You may only have 10 clients yourself, ย but as Anita said, if you offer the theme for sale on your own website, and market the theme (even free through FB and Twitter), you could conceivably find yourself with more than 10 people interested in purchasing the theme.
Like anything else, you need to do your research as to what will sell. For example, even though I am a Pro Plus member, I will buy a community theme as soon as it comes out if I like it, even if I don't have an immediate plan to build a site with it.
SusanModeratorOn your hosting site, go to WP-Contents > Themes, then delete AgentPress and Genesis.
If you didn't touch the Genesis files, there should be no reason to uninstall and re-install.
SusanModeratorI don't have an immediate suggestion for you, but can you come up with 3 examples of author's websites which you do like, and then look for something similar in the showcase, or the shop for themes section.
You could also come back here with the sites you like, and ask for suggestions.
I provide support for the Pretty Darn Cute community marketplace themes, and have helped on sites for two authors - one is using the Modern Blogger theme, and the other is using the Adorable theme, so I think it really depends on what *you* as the author are looking for in your site.
SusanModeratorTo add home to your menu, you would need to go Dashboard > Menu > Custom Link, and create a menu item called "Home", using your site's URL. Save, and then add it to the menu which you would like it to appear on.
To change elements on your CSS page (which is also called your "stylesheet"), you can do it one of two ways - either FTP into your hosting site, and make the changes there, or go to your Dashboard > Editor, and make the changes there.
You might want to start by reading the Genesis Guide for Absolute Beginners:

SusanModeratorTo change the link color, look for this in your stylesheet, starting on line 134:
/* Hyperlinks
------------------------------------------------------------ */a,
a:visited {
color: #0094d2;
text-decoration: none;
}SusanModeratorI just took a look at your site, and it appears that you have resolved your issue - page 2 looks the same as page one to me.

SusanModeratorYou must use a child theme, otherwise any changes you make to the Genesis framework will be lost in a update. The "Sample" child theme is the one based on the Genesis Framework, allowing you to fully customize it to your liking.
SusanModeratorYou're welcome! I'll close this thread as "resolved".
SusanModeratorAndrew, in the "Featured Page" widget, what size do you have selected? ย I know you said you made the picture the specific size, but did you also select ย that size in the dropdown?
SusanModeratorDisclaimer: I don't work for StudioPress, so I don't have all the answers...
No release date has been set for Genesis 2. I believe they are waiting in the release of WP3.6.
As for changes? I think the biggest one will be the addition of HTML5.
Let me see if I can find further news.
