Genesis Featured Posts is a widget, not a plugin. Go to the Appearance/Widgets page to use it.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorBecause the site-header has a fixed position, you have to set the width to 100% and add text-align: center; to the .site-header class at line 1193 in style.css.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThere are literally thousands of HTML/CSS classes available on the web or elsewhere. Many of them free. Google HtmL/CSS training to find something near you.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorGeneric fonts are included to at least approximate a consistent display. Monochome Pro includes the following header font-family:
font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
A directive like this covers any and all browsers and operating systems. Browsers will interpret this line as:
If Helvetica Neue is available as a system font, then use it to display this content. If Helvetica Neue is not available, then use Helvetica if it is available. If neither of the two Helvetica variants are available, then use Arial. If none of the prior three fonts are available, the use whatever font is defined in the browser as the default sans-serif font.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?October 30, 2017 at 7:54 am in reply to: How to float video left and text right ans style text if possible #213086Victor FontModeratorSince WordPress changed the text widget to use the TinyMCE editor, you have to use the custom HTML widget or download our Classic Text Widget.
Next, I would use the Genesis column classes to create two columns.
<div class="column-wrap"> <div class="one-half first"> <iframe src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/235755450" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe> </div> <div class="one-half"> <p><span class="lead">bold text here for example</span> some text here .</p> </div> </div>

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou can do this as a standard page in HTML/CSS as was my first suggestion. Without seeing your content, it's not possible to give an accurate estimate. The HTML part is easy. The CSS takes the most time. Developer rates are variable based on a number of factors. A very long, single page could take as much as a full day or two to tweak to perfection. You could be spending upwards of $1,000USD or more for an above-average Genesis designer.
Truthfully though, you probably don't need someone that specializes in Genesis. Doing it as a standard page is just HTML/CSS, no Genesis coding required.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorI would ask the question of the WP Migrate DB developers, then. This has nothing to do with Genesis or your theme.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThis is normal. Since widgets were first introduced in WordPress V2.2, their content is stored as serialized arrays and mapped to its sidebar in the wp_options table. It is impossible to know how a theme developer will create sidebar areas. Because of the developer's free will in creating the theme, when you change themes, the chances of sidebars being identical in two themes is very slim. When WordPress loads, it should place the previous theme's widgets in the inactive widget list. You should only have to drag and drop them into the new widget areas.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?October 29, 2017 at 3:08 pm in reply to: Authority Pro – Can I use the post template for a page? ( It's so pretty! ) #213065Victor FontModeratorThere is no special post template. There is a setting in Appearance > Customize > Authority Pro Settings for displaying the featured image. Check the box to automatically display the featured image above the content on single posts.
You didn't mention what theme you are using, but because this is a custom setting, there's a lot going on behind the scenes to display the image. It would be difficult to transfer this to another theme.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorMost modern browsers have a mobile design tool as part of its developer toolset. In Firefox you first open the inspect tool then click on the mobile icon.
In your case, you have the content area set to a fixed width of 750px. It's in the WordPress custom CSS area, which overrides the style sheet.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorDid you follow the directions for adding the widget area to a hook and displaying it on a page?
The example you referenced will on show the widget area on the front end on single post pages. Do you want the widget area to display site-wide or on a specific page?
Does your theme display the navigation menu in the genesis_after_header hook?

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModerator"Easy" is a subjective term. What I find to be easy may be beyond another individual's skill set.
The page you are directing us to is not what I would call a landing page. It is a home page because it has a menu and footer. Landing pages don't have either.
Pages like the example are generally done with a widgetized front-page.php template. This means you also have to know PHP in order to make the widgets appear on the Appearance/Widgets page, and to display on the home page itself. By the time you add the CSS, you could be looking at a couple of days' worth of work.
BTW, if you look at the example page in Pagespeed Insights, it is one of the most poorly performing pages I've seen. It scored a 0 out of 100 for Desktop and 21 out of 100 for mobile. That's not a good example to follow.
Since you don't know CSS, and I'm assuming PHP, my suggestion is to find a developer who can help you.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorMany of the Studio Press child themes come with landing page templates. Just create a page as you normally would in WordPress, assign the landing page template to it and you're done.
The issue you'll face in moving away from Divi is building the landing page CSS yourself. You'll also find that by building a page the traditional way, your content will remain clean as opposed to the damage Divi does by inserting its shortcodes into your content. It's really hard to clean up your content and make it presentable again after moving away from Divi.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorChild theme's aren't auto-updated. The purpose of a child is to make changes that won't get updated. The functionality comes from the parent theme, the Genesis Framework. The framework gets updated regularly. Updates to the framework do not overwrite changes to the child theme.
There are plenty of child themes that have full width headers. The Genesis Sample theme can have a full width header by changing one line of code in style.css. Change the fixed width from pixels to 100% and you have it. Don't use the header-right widget area with a full width header. Maybe this will help: https://victorfont.com/understanding-genesis-framework-site-header-layout/

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorI installed Authority Pro in my dev environment without issue. What version of PHP are you running on the server? Is it possibly a version that is older than 5.3? The line of code that your system is tripping over is calling an anonymous function. Anonymous functions weren't supported in PHP until version 5.3.
