Actually, I just changed them back so pages don’t allow comments or trackbacks and refreshed again and comments are still working.
I’m wondering if something needed to be reset in the database. I think it reset whatever was causing the problem when I unchecked them and published it (as suggested by @Anita), and then checked them all and published it.
wendeeParticipantI just found the bug!
Comments won’t display with the following settings in
“Genesis > Theme Settings > Comments and Trackbacks”:Box checked for -
“Enable Comments on Posts”Box unchecked for -
“Enable Comments on Pages”Box checked for -
“Enable Trackbacks on Posts”Box unchecked for -
“Enable Trackbacks on Pages”If all the boxes are checked then the comments display.
wendeeParticipant@Anita thanks for your suggestion. I did that and sadly it still doesn’t display the comments.
wendeeParticipantI checked the plugins and they don't seem to be the issue. I set up the same versions of Genesis and Magazine Pro with the same plugins on another blog using the same settings and the test blog is displaying the comments just fine. This is so puzzling.

wendeeParticipantI'm trying to customize an index which is essentially a master category archive. I think this is similar so I wasn't sure if I should put it in this thread or not.
I know I can add custom fields as is described in this tutorial http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/category-blog-page/, but I'm wanting to adjust it a bit more than this. I'd like to list all posts organized by category name (so there would need to be something like
Category Name
added in above the posts in that category. I'd also like to just show the post title as a link. I want the posts in each category to be alphabetized.
I'm thinking I could use the wp_list_categories template tag found here http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_list_categories to do some of this, but I'm not sure how to create a custom category template within a child theme or if that is even possible. I'd suppose I can create a custom template within the child theme, but I need some basic steps on that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
