Anita, does the AgentPress listings plugin work with the other responsive themes (like Metro Pro) "out of the box" or does it require some customization?
WendyYoheMemberThanks Susan!
Apparently, I didn't do something right because when I removed that bit it took the whole site down. I had to replace the functions.php file to repair it.
My ultimate goal is to remove the subnav left widget area and have the subnav menu move to the left.
Do you know how I might go about that?
WendyYoheMemberI use a plugin called Backup Creator. It's only $7 for up to 5 sites and it backs up everything. I also use this plugin to clone sites. Very easy to use and works like a charm.
(That's not an affiliate link, BTW.)
WendyYoheMemberI just grabbed my husband's computer and checked the site. Looks great in both Chrome and Firefox. Test widget areas display correctly. Sooo, looks like we're dealing with a caching issue on my computer.
Thanks for all your help, anitac! =)

WendyYoheMemberI'm viewing the site in Firefox and Chrome and they both show the text widgets overlapping.
Can I add an image here? I can take screenshots.
WendyYoheMemberI just copied the DIVs. Here's the widget section of the home.php file:
function metro_homepage_widgets() {
genesis_widget_area( 'home-top', array(
'before' => '<div class="home-top widget-area">',
) );
genesis_widget_area( 'home-top2', array(
'before' => '<div class="home-top2 widget-area">',
) );if ( is_active_sidebar( 'home-middle-left' ) || is_active_sidebar( 'home-middle-right' ) ) {
echo '<div class="home-middle">';
genesis_widget_area( 'home-middle-left', array(
'before' => '<div class="home-middle-left widget-area">',
) );genesis_widget_area( 'home-middle-right', array(
'before' => '<div class="home-middle-right widget-area">',
) );echo '</div>';
}
genesis_widget_area( 'home-bottom', array(
'before' => '<div class="home-bottom widget-area">',
) );
if ( is_active_sidebar( 'home-middle-left2' ) || is_active_sidebar( 'home-middle-right2' ) ) {echo '<div class="home-middle2">';
genesis_widget_area( 'home-middle-left2', array(
'before' => '<div class="home-middle-left2 widget-area">',
) );genesis_widget_area( 'home-middle-right2', array(
'before' => '<div class="home-middle-right2 widget-area">',
) );echo '</div>';
}
genesis_widget_area( 'home-bottom2', array(
'before' => '<div class="home-bottom2 widget-area">',
) );}
genesis();
WendyYoheMemberThe home-middle-left2 and the home-middle-right2 are the areas I added. Those areas overlap a bit. I just added text widgets to those areas so you can see what I mean. What do I adjust to fix the overlap?
Thanks for your help! =)
WendyYoheMemberFor anyone wanting to use this - a little clarification.
You will see this in your CSS -
#wrap {
clear: both;
padding: 36px;
padding: 2rem;
}And I replaced the above with this, (I adjusted the padding slightly to retain the side padding) -
#wrap {
clear: both;
padding: 1rem 2.25rem 2.25rem;
}Thanks again Dave!
WendyYoheMemberThanks Dave! It worked perfectly!
Have a great weekend! =)
WendyYoheMemberPerfect! Thank you! =)
WendyYoheMemberYeah, I do. I'm a bit of a perfectionist. LOL
I need to add just a bit of padding to the left of the icon (between the icon and the edge of the content area).
Thanks!
WendyYoheMemberHi anitac!
Thanks for the instructions! It worked perfectly (except that I had to remove the quotation marks from around the image URL). Now I want to add a little padding to the left of the icon but I can't seem to make it work. Can you offer some guidance? =)
Thanks!
Wendy
Johnstown360.comWendyYoheMemberThis is the tutorial I used - http://designsbynickthegeek.com/tutorials/add-widgeted-sidebar
and this is the specific code I used -
genesis_register_sidebar( array(
'id' => 'before-header-ad',
'name' => 'Before Header Ad',
'description' => 'This is a sidebar that goes before the header.',
) );
add_action( 'genesis_before', 'child_before_header_ad_sidebar' );
/** Loads a new sidebar before the #wrap */
function child_before_header_ad_sidebar() {echo '<div class="before-header-ad">';
dynamic_sidebar( 'before-header-ad' );
echo '</div>';}
Not really sure how I should edit add_action to make it move the secondary nav to below the widget area.
