The custom post types that are created by the Portfolio piece provided with the Minimum Pro theme do not appear in the Genesis Featured Posts widget.
WPMonkeyMemberFirst of all, I would like to be able to group different portfolio posts - so that when someone goes to the portfolio they can see that they are grouped or categorized differently in some way. Whether this is a heading, a tag, sub-pages, either way just so long as it apparent/
There is a an Attributes section within the Portfolio custom post types (the Portfolio that is provided with the Minimum Pro theme) listing the other portfolio custom post types in the drop down. What is this? What is the functionality?
November 24, 2013 at 2:49 pm in reply to: Assign a different sidebar for posts at the theme level? #75399WPMonkeyMemberPerhaps I wasn't clear enough. I'm not talking about the layout. I want the layout to remain the same for all pages. What I mean is that I can create a primary sidebar for pages and another primary sidebar for posts. So I'm talking about the content of the widgets within the sidebars, the widgetized area.
Is there a way to say pages = Primary Sidebar widget area and posts = Post sidebar widget area, without having to go into every post and selecting Sidebar Selection > Primary Sidebar > Post Sidebar?
November 2, 2013 at 5:02 pm in reply to: Additional "category" reference added to some post URLs #70580WPMonkeyMemberThe issue is that the post's URL is supposed to be:
http://www.meissnernordic.org/announcements/piston-bully-delivery-slated-for-mid-november/
...and that is the URL that opens without a 404, that's what listed as the shortlink, etc.But instead the link is being listed in the Genesis Featured Posts widget as:
http://www.meissnernordic.org/category/announcements/piston-bully-delivery-slated-for-mid-november/
...which is incorrect and gives a 404So I'm trying to figure out why the featured post is pulling in an incorrect URL and where it's pulling that information from.
WPMonkeyMemberWhat does that do for load time, especially if I'm doing extensive styling in my customizations?
WPMonkeyMemberThanks, that looks like a start since the first line of Superfish states that there is an option for touch for opening sub-menus. I assume that I add the call to Superfish and add the Superfish code within the child theme folder to invoke the Superfish options and menu behavior?
Hovers don't exist in touch interfaces (yet) and can lead to very frustrating interactions between the touch user and selecting drop-down sub-menus so a "first touch" or click is best, especially on a responsive theme that will be viewed by multiple devices.
Thanks, I'll look at that and see if it works.
