Focus 2.0 Child Theme Available

We are happy to announce the release of the Focus 2.0 child theme. This WordPress theme works on the Genesis Framework and can be downloaded by Pro Plus members in the support forum. All others can purchase the package here.

For those who already have the Focus 1.0 theme, the updated version will be sent out to the email address you used to purchase.

The Focus theme is the fifth theme released here at StudioPress which has been developed to be mobile responsive in design. View all responsive WordPress themes.

Updating to Focus v2.0

This version underwent a major design change and code update which means there’s not an easy update path. If you’re happy with your site built on a previous version of the theme, there’s no need to update.

Comments

  1. Very nice! Looks like you tend to release them on Fridays and I don’t have time to play with it. Love those mobile responsive themes.

  2. The themes lately have been nothing short of amazing. Thanks for the great work!

  3. Very nice. Any roadmap for others? News and Backcountry are top of my list.

  4. I think this maybe my favorite one yet. Totally different from the original but it is MUCH better. Can’t wait to get the download link so I play around with this one. :)

  5. I like that the focus of this design is relatively minimal and highlights content over color, etc. But I also like my News Theme blog better than this one. But that’s just my subjective preference. Keep ‘em coming!

  6. I like the signup box in the sidebar and that you already implemented the social icons widget.

  7. Newsletter box is awesome.

And I guess we have to wait a little longer for Agency Two ;)

  8. This behaviour is unacceptable. On the demo, you had Rasberry.

It was fantastic. And I have been planning my whole life around that Rasberry color scheme.

But it is no there in the final release.

I thought you were an ethical company (aside from supporting Starbucks).

  9. Or another way of saying it:

I love this child theme and wondered if you could extend your generosity by providing the raspberry version – or the hex and psd’s to do it myself. :)

  10. I like it, especially in the grey colour combination. Fine condensed fonts, and the shade of red links add a nice touch. I agree with ThemePremium, the newsletter box is very good.

  11. The last few theme releases have all made me stop for a moment and seriously consider changing themes, they all had the WOW factor.
Unfortunately, this one failed to hit the spot for me.

As mentioned in comments already “Newsletter box is awesome” and I love the widgetised footer plus “mobile responsive” is a fabulous feature.

Can’t believe the speed you guys are producing / updating themes but this one didn’t do it for me.

Sorry peeps but I’m sure you guys prefer honest feedback.

  12. The new stuff is all looking great. I’m thinking about switching to a Genesis theme and was wondering if there was an area of the site that tells me what can be customized in wordpress and what can’t. I’m mainly talking about design like content area color, background color, font sizes and colors. I’m a Premise user so are the themes as customizable as the landing pages? Thanks.

  13. I think I’ve figured out the color schemes for the demo. It’s the background color that’s blue, grey, brown….I was distracted by the green, orange, and red. Right?

  14. A simpler yet elegant design. I will be upgrading from my 1.0 ver…great job!

  15. Is there an easy way to remove the category navigation bar at the top of the theme? Thanks.

  16. I know you guys and girls are busy but I’m trying to decide if I am going to buy this theme. Can you please let me know whether or not it is possible to remove the category nav bar at the top? If not can the custom menu widget be used for that nav bar? Thanks.

  17. Brian I would just like to say thank you for taking the time to update this theme. I was HUGE fan of the original Focus theme (it converted me from Thesis) and now the 2nd version is so much better (and mobile responsive!).

Looking forward to Focus 3 whenever that may be!

  18. Hello,

Why Studiopress done that? Its a totally new theme, why you havent put another name but instead you replace the old Focus theme with this one? This is TOTALLY different!

Now i have upgraded my wordpress and plugin’s and now the old focus theme have bugs! What i need to do? Do you support the fix for this?

  19. I really like Focus 2.0, its minimal look is great and suitable for blogs with “original stuff”. Brian you did a great job by completely re-designing the old Focus theme. This theme is very cool without any bugs.
