Genesis Framework 1.8.2 Now Available

Last week WordPress 3.4 was released, and we are pushing out a “compatibility update” for Genesis to address a few minor bugs. While nothing major was reported since the released, there have been a few things that needed to be addressed.

We’re happy to announce that Genesis 1.8.2 is now available for download, and you should start to see the update notice in your dashboard.

If you don’t, go to the Appearance > Themes page there, and then head back to the dashboard homepage. This should trigger the update notice.

Here’s a list of changes that have been made to Genesis 1.8.2:

  • Fixed bug in term editing function
  • Fixed warning when using the Theme Editor
  • Fixed deprecated function warning when displaying theme information in the document head
  • Fixed deprecated function warning when using Genesis’s custom header feature

So go ahead and update now, and let us know if you see any other issues or confirm that those issues addressed in this update have been resolved.

  1. It’s great. I have updated Genesis 1.8.2 and WordPress 3.4 in all of my sites ๐Ÿ˜€ Thank you for nice response

  2. This update (1.8.2) fixed my issue. I was one of the people that had errors in the theme editor.

    Keep up the great work.

  3. I also had a few theme editor troubles and this resolved it with a single click. Thanks as always, guys!

  4. Updated! All theme errors fixed and all working cool as usuall. Thank you.

  5. Upgrade went smoothly…thanks for making it so easy!

  6. Hi, I tried to update a site, which also uses the simple hooks plugin, and the site broke completely, removed the plugin via ftp, and site worked again.

  7. It doesn’t show new updates notification, It’s enable to automatic updates, but It’s still on 1.8.1

  8. Bought it yesterday and our new site is going to be based on this! Looks really good so far!

  9. Ouch: Simple hooks broke my site too. Updated it before doing genesis update. Had to change my plugin folder name to get back into wp-admin. I ended up leaving the plugin turned off to save more headaches: what is the best approach with this? Upgrade genesis then genesis plugins or vice versa?

  10. Thanks, guys. All the warnings that appeared after 3.4 are gone.

  11. Thanks for the update guys! It’s really good to keep all our sites healthy and safe.

  12. Having problems uploading MP3 files since the upgrade. Status bar just resets about a half dozen times and basically quits. Tried everything to sort it out. So far, disabling Simple Hooks got me up to 28% of the file before it balked, started over and then died.

  13. Thank you for the Genesis 1.8.2 update. I am using the Lifestyle 2.0.2 child theme on a site I am building for a client. After I upgraded to WordPress 3.4, I got error messages with Genesis 1.8.1 on the Appearance > Header and Appearance > Editor pages. Upgrading to Genesis 1.8.2 removed the error messages in Appearance > Editor, but I am still getting this error message in Appearance > Header:

Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function ‘lifestyle_admin_style’ not found or invalid function name in /home/USERNAME/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 403

Can you please release an update to either Genesis or Lifestyle to correct this problem?

    Thank you very much,

    Fred Chapman

P.S. I purchased the all-theme package and use the Genesis framework on every self-hosted WordPress website I build. Genesis is solid, flexible, and a tremendous value. Kudos to StudioPress!

  14. Thanks, Guys. And I will download and upgrade for my projects.

  15. Thank you for nice response. I will upgrade for my Website.

  16. where do i find the link to the upgrade and / or do you need to be a subscriber.

  17. I updated to the latest version 1.8.2 and I can’t find the option to edit the color of the page (I see where I can change the background). Previously, I used the purple but now it’s blue. Also, I don’t see where I can add my picture in the header…

    Thank you,

  20. I am running Version: 1.8.2 of the eleven40 theme on the Genesis Framework. My wordpress is up to date as well 3.4.1. For some reason I cant update my recent plugin updates even though I was able to do so in the past with the same plugins. I keep getting these messages….
