Inspired 1.0 Child Theme Now Available

We are happy to announce the release of the Inspired 1.0 child theme. This WordPress theme works on the Genesis Framework and can be purchased here.

Inspired Child Theme

Inspired was developed by Lauren Gaige of Restored 316 Designs, and is a Community theme. These are not included in our Pro Plus package, but we assure you that the design and coding of them are top-notch.

Theme Features

The Inspired child theme includes the following features: 3 color styles, 3 layout options, custom background, custom header, custom menus, featured images, fixed width, theme options, threaded comments.

Take the Inspired theme for a test drive…

  1. Very nice and clean for a “pretty” theme. I particularly like the “fading” background that goes from texture to single colour. It does seem to not quite work on the green version, where I see the “break” for some reason.

Otherwise, I really like it, full-on pink in particular, though it is probably nothing for my personal site.

  2. Great addition to the StudioPress portfolio, nice colors and very clean!

  3. Damn! Again my theme name stolen (after minimal). I was trying to adopt old Digital Inspiration ( theme and named that “Inspired”.

However, Good looking theme! Well done StudioPress.

  4. Very beautiful theme! Great job! :)

On an unrelated note, I am kind of disappointed that this kind of creativity isn’t being used when creating the themes that are apart of the overall theme package available to those of us who have purchased the whole shebang. I don’t know… I kind of feel like something is missing with Studiopress lately. I wouldn’t mind paying a yearly maintenance fee just to get more / different / better themes included in the overall package.

    • Kellie has a good point there; while the regular offerings are always great, the focus on creative design seems to belong to the “community theme” group. If an annual subscription fee meant more and more varied themes for ProPlus users, I’d be game.

      • I understand what you and Kellie are saying, but right now we really want to focus on updating our current themes so they are on par with the latest design and functional standards. (ie mobile responsive, etc.)

We’ve never wanted to become a place where there are hundreds of themes, because at some point it because difficult for folks to choose.

In terms of theme release ratio, keep in mind there is only one StudioPress and countless developers who want to create and sell themes.

We are dedicated to providing our users the best experience and that means fewer themes that are high quality.

For what it’s worth, after we update a couple of themes, we do plan on retiring a few that just aren’t worth an update – and replacing them with fresh, new concepts like the Pin This theme.

        • Hi Brian :) I’m definitely in agreement on keeping the number of themes down and I’d be just as quick to complain if you guys weren’t updating current themes, making them mobile responsive, etc.

The Pin This theme looks great; like the MindSteam theme, it’s a cool departing from the norm!

        • I may be the boring “business website” guy, but the “Pin This” theme looks fabulous.

        • Wow, the Pin This theme is great, but I can’t find where to buy it even on your themes page. Can you show me where to buy? I really love it :)

    • I love the Pin This theme also. Can’t wait for it to be released.

I’d like to see a good balance between portfolio or business style themes and lifestyle themed blogs. News and the Magazine themes don’t really have the ‘look’ of most entertainment, fashion, and lifestyle blogs.

  5. Hi Brian,

Thank you for addressing my comment. :) I just want to say that I (sheepishly so) didn’t even consider all of the work involved in keeping your current themes updated. I appreciate all of the work you and the Studiopress team puts into your product!

I also want to say that I didn’t mean to imply that the themes you have now are less than stellar — because they are stellar. As a customer, I feel that I have received exactly what I paid for and am happy with that.

I am so enthusiastic about Studiopress and the Genesis framework that I want more and am more than willing to pay for it.

I think my real frustration comes in when I try to develop a theme of my own and have a unique layout in mind that is not offered in the current theme repository (or even in the marketplace themes) and I ask a question in the forum about some PHP or whatever, and I get an answer like “Sorry. We don’t help with the development of themes.”

I get that statement — I really do. But as a budding developer, it’s really frustrating. I have no problem trying to find the answer but when I post a question on the forum — I have truly reached the end of where to look (hence why I post the question).

Anyway– my point with that, is I would be more than willing to pay for a “Genesis Development Class” or something to that effect. There is so much awesomeness here with Studiopress that I want to continue to use and buy whatever you guys put out.

Case in point, I started out with the Prose theme and then bought the Pro Plus package and then followed that up with the BuddyPress plugin purchase. Additionally, Brian I have been a fan of your themes long before Studiopress.

So in conclusion, consider me an enthusiastic customer who simply wants more.

  6. Good looking theme, but it would be nice to see an eye catching image as the featured image.

Would make all the difference in attracting attention to the theme.

  7. Great addition to the StudioPress portfolio, nice colors and very clean!

  8. So I bought this theme last night. I cannot get my slider to have a nice big featured image. I am using the wrong widget? Do I need to change a setting somewhere? I cannot for the life of me figure it out!

The Forum Access Instructions are provided on the Download Page, which you can access via the email link you received after purchasing your theme.

It shows the steps you must take to register for a Forum USER Account and get the Account upgraded.

If you have followed these instructions and still do not have access, please try clearing your cache and cookies and logging in again.

*PLEASE NOTE* – if you have only purchased a child theme, and do not yet own the Genesis Framework, your Transaction ID will not be recognized. Genesis is required in order for your child theme to function, and therefore support forum access depends upon a Genesis purchase.

  9. I purchased it & downloaded it. I am having some issues and dont see a section in the forum for this specific template.

  10. I don’t know how I missed this, but what an amazing theme! Love it, Lauren!

  11. Chantelle Adams :

HELP! I am SO new to WordPress and I just downloaded the Inspired and Genesis Theme and I thought that it would have all the components that I see in the sample… the header slider and the colored box headers at the bottom etc… obviously I didn’t realize that it was so much work… I am used to drag and drop and fill it in websites. Can someone please tell me where to look and how I can get my inspired theme looking like the sample… any help would be SO appreciated!!!! Thank you!
