Serenity Slider Issues

Older versions of the Serenity child theme were experiencing an issue with the Slider that was loaded via the child theme. The updated version simply replaces that code with a widget area now using the Genesis Slider plugin that we’ve built.

  1. Another wordpress theme with slider? Looks like i have to install Genesis Slider WordPress plugin right now on my other blog :(

  2. Brian,

I just noticed on the download page in the forum it’s still listed as version 1.0.1. Just thought you might want to know to update.

I actually noticed that slider problem on one of my sites. I’m grateful that is has been addressed but it is a great pity that the slider’s left and right navigational arrows no longer protrude out beyond the slider box.

It may seem like a small detail but the way in which they jutted out was a good visual complement to the way in which the raised menu ribbon juts out on both sides, it was part of what made this theme so special.

    • That can easily be addressed with overriding CSS in the child theme. From a default standpoint, I left the arrows inside the wrap, because I didn’t want there to be any issues with some of our child themes that might have an overflow hidden being used and cutting the arrows off.

  4. Oh, yes! Thank you for this update!

I’ve been using Serenity for my main website since day one of being Genesis user! It’s not that I have problems with the slider because it’s still there.

It just that the featured images in it have been moving in an uncontrollable speed for a week or so. Again, thank you! Updating it right after posting this comment! :-)

    Keep up the good works!

  5. Awesome site! I have been happy with Genesis since the day I switched from Thesis :-).
