Tapestry 1.0 Child Theme Released

StudioPress is happy to announce the release of the Tapestry 1.0 child theme. This WordPress theme works on the Genesis Framework and can be downloaded by Pro Plus members in the support forum. All others can purchase the package here.

If you have already purchased the Genesis Framework and any other child theme previously, you can simply purchase the child package by itself, otherwise you need the Tapestry + Genesis Theme package.

We’re also pleased to announce that this is the first of what will be many Tumblog-style child themes for Genesis. With the release of WordPress 3.1 which includes post formats, we want to take full advantage of the awesomeness that WordPress provides.

Take it for a test drive…

  1. I’ve been waiting for this theme to hit the shelf for months. I’m glad Tapestry is finally here.

    Excellent work!

    • Thanks Josh – we’re very excited too, especially with the support for post formats. Believe it or not, this theme has been done for a few months now – was waiting for WP 3.1 to come out and the right time to launch.

  2. Susan says:

Very beautiful! I really like this one. Look forward to finding a way to use it….

Look great. I’ll see what it looks like on my HoneyDoListTV.com website today. Maybe I’ll use the tapestry theme on it instead.

    Thanks for the awesome look!

    Sebastian :)

  6. Ed Gaile says:

  7. Giant says:

I’m not sure why, can’t quite out my finger on it, but…… I love this theme!

  8. CypherHackz says:

Wow! This theme is very nice! This is the theme that I’ve been waiting for. But still looking for promo code to get discount to purchase Genesis and its child themes. Thumbs up for this theme!

  9. Rhea says:

I’ve got it up, and I LOVE it. :)

  10. Dennis Comstock says:

I’m curious — what exactly is a “Tumblog” theme and what do they do?

How is Tapestry 1.0 different from other themes, and what are its unique features?

I recently got your ProPlus package and am “baffled” at all the Child Theme choices. Not sure which to use and how people get so many different “customized” looks to them all (looking through the Gallery section especially those using just the Genesis framework as their theme).

    Very impressive but totally confused!

    • Keith Davis says:

      Hi Dennis
I’m with you on this one.
I’ve just joined and am thinking about upgrading to pro plus in order to use the themes on customers sites.

Like you I wonder which theme best suits a particular type of site.
There is a little intro next to each theme but not much.

I’ve taken a look at some of the videos and they look fantastic.
Early days and I’m sure that I’ll get into it.

  11. Bronson says:

    Very nice work indeed.

It looks like it’s a great starting point for further customization (if required) – it’s clean, neat and good looking — everything you need in a WP theme.

  12. grosso says:

    elegant beatiful awesome!!!

  13. Vivek Parmar says:

wow, finally it is here looking forward to test it on my blog.

  14. CypherHackz says:

I wish that we can have lightbox display in Gallery view. :)

  15. Tinh says:

  16. Joie says:

WOW.. love it. Looks like I will change my theme from FOCUS to this one. Thanks Studiopress Team

  17. Jon Donley says:

This is cool, Brian, however, I’m a little concerned that this is the “first of many” Tumblog-style child themes . . . as a commercial site developer who now works exclusively in Genesis for my business clients, I’m wondering how this focus will affect the rollout of new CMS-style child themes.

Of course I can modify and customize Genesis “raw”, as well as its warhorses – as Streamline, Magazine, News, Serenity, etc. – to my heart’s content. But many of these themes predate Genesis itself, and frankly, I’d like to see your designers come out with more fresh designs that showcase the latest Genesis/Wordpress capabilities appropriate for business and organizations. Especially some that offer more built-in custom post types and displays. I’m an avid proselytizer for Studio Press, and would like to point to new business/organization-relevant themes.

Good job as always on this theme.

  18. Jeff Hester says:

Great work! I’m going to give this a run on my personal blog. Should be a great fit.

Incidentally, this style of theme is something that was missing from the StudioPress family, and I welcome the new arrival!

  19. Jon says:

Yes!!!! I’ve been keeping an eye on this one and it’s finally out, WOOOT! Good stuff, keep it up!

  20. Brad says:

Great work as always Brian. It would be fun to look into a crystal ball and see where you guys are going to be in a years time. Exciting stuff coming out of the Studiopress stable…looking forward to a many more great themes from you and the team. Many thanks.

  21. Dam says:

    Very beautiful theme!

I’ve a blog with many many comments, paged comments it’s possibile in tapstry theme?

    thanks!

  22. Hmm… I may have to give this theme a spin as a replacement to my existing Posterous site. I use it mainly to upload photo/video content.

  23. Jim Van Wyck says:

Great theme … love the look,
and the way the custom post formats work
is really cool, now that I get a good look at them.

This is the way most people blog anyways,
heavy with pics, quotes, links, and shared vids.

I hope you bring out lots more of these highly personal type themes,
and betcha they really catch on!

Sending good energy towards StudioPress and all!

    –Jim

  26. Bob Fortner says:

Just installed Tapestry on a first time home buyer site for the Raleigh market. Looking forward to diving into the new features… Thanks Brian and StudioPress for all you guys do!

  27. Pedro Biondi says:

Is it possible to upload a custom image to Tapestry theme’s background?

  28. Swerkie says:

I love the layout of this theme but is there an easy way to change the colors? I would prefer black vs current blue shale. Plus, how difficult would it be to switch the columns around so the narrow one is on the left?

    Thank you very much.
