Saving page changes URL

Every time I save changes to a page, the URL adds -2 to the end.
for example, first time I save: domain.com/dancer-2
next time I save: domain.com/dancer-2-2
then domain.com/dancer-2-2-2
These are not NEW pages, just each time I save a page

any ideas?

They are saving as new pages then. Wordpress adds the -2 to the end.

You could also have a plugin doing it.

That's exactly what it appears to be doing, but there are no new pages. This happens when I click UPDATE. - I can mssg you login to see if I am missing something

No, I did not ask for a login. :) Please deactivate ALL your plugins and try again.

This is not theme related.

I am not using plugins. This is a new install - within 24 hours. I have used Wordpress many times, but this is the first time with this theme.
the only plugin that is installed is Contact Form 7

No - If I use Twenty Eleven, everything works fine. hmm

Nothing in any of our themes should affect permalinks. WHAT theme are you using? Can I get a link to your site, so I can go look?

I;m not asking for an admin login, just a link to the front of your site.

Ooops, I removed a line in the functions page that made it happen. Sorry to bother you so much! I fixed it :) Thanks for your help, much appreciated. http://bettybranch.23hearts.com

Great since the issue is resolved, I'll close the thread. If you have more questions, please open a new thread.
