Allure Theme discontinued?
 

Hi,
I have a client using the Allure theme (from a couple of years ago). Has the Allure theme been discontinued, and if so, why? I would like to give her a good reason to go with a more updated theme.

IT was discontinued as an outdated design and is no longer supported.

Basically, if something happens in a WordPress update where the theme functionality will no longer work, we will not be providing a fix.

Good to know; thanks, Andrea. All the more reason for them to go with a new theme. Thus far, it's made it through every WP update.

Now I need to see how challenging it's going to be to go from Allure to a child theme.

Should be just like switching themes, as usual. ;)

aahhh....if only it was just a matter of installing Genesis and a Child Theme and then select the new theme. They have so much stuff all over their site, including shopping cart buttons.

Switching themes should not affect the actual content.

If the shopping cart buttons were inserted using shortcodes or custom css, then you have to move those customizations over as well.

Ideally that would have been rolled into a plugin so it was not theme-dependant.
