change the hyperlink on Church header?

How do I change the hyperlink on the Church header image?

Can I get a link to your site, so I can go look?

THe link goes to your site url in the WordPress settings - usually the address where the installation is located.

our site

Thank you Andrea! Our site is http://www.throttlermagazine.com

We are trying to to something like this site does http://www.aimag.com/wordpress/

For starters, the home link on your menu is incorrect.

On your example site, the header is linked to where WP is installed.

header URLs

yes, we know our home link is incorrect but can't figure out what we did wrong and how to fix it. but that's not what we are needing.

we want to do either two things:

A: split the header image and have our URL (left logo portion) be a "HOME" hyperlink and have one of our paid advertisers (right half) URL go to their site.

B: add an image on top of the header image like the example we showed you.

Can you explain which one would be best to do and how to do it, please? We lean more towards the option B, ourselves.

Thank you!

Use a text widget in the header right widget area. Place your ad code or HTML with an image linked elsewhere.

That is exactly what the other site did. ;)

The ad is not part of the header image itself. You will need to remove it from your header image.

Go to Appearance -> Menus.

Remove the Home Page menu box.

Fill out the Custom link menu box with your url. label it home. place that on the menu.

awesomeness!

Andrea, you have been VERY helpful and to the point! Thanks!

Now, two more questions if I could?...

I've looked for a way to change the Church theme colors as indicated - blue, brown, gray - but there is no Church theme settings in my Genesis Theme Setting menu. I've read forum posts saying that's where it is but mine isn't there. Please help.

Also, I just read where someone says the Dynamic Content Gallery under Genesis is a poor choice and to use the Genesis Slider. Huh? Where is the Genesis Slider and how do I implement that instead of the DCG?

Many thanks!
Rod

You are using a retired theme that we no longer support, unfortunately. And we do ask that normally you stick to one issue per thread.

Look for the color styles on the genesis settings page.
