Category Question
Don't know if this is possible... but that "optional" section in wordpress permalinks settings section has always bugged me... if you don't put something in category base field, wp uses the default word category.
Right now I use the word topic. Is there some way to really make that optional and not use it? to permanently remove it? Hope I explained that so it makes sense. Thanks |

See the docs. There are plugins that remove the category slug as well. But the permalinks are not theme based - they are the same no matter what theme you use. |
I don't have a problem with the permalinks. I set it to %postname%
Nice to know there might be a plug in to remove the category option... i'll do a search and will keep you posted. Thanks |
I linked to the docs on the permalinks because it explains why /category/ is stuffed in there. ;)

Wordpress SEO by Yoast, plugin, strips the " /category/ " term from the permalink structure. It is optional.
That option is available under the Permalinks section. :) |
