Hi All transferring to magazine theme

Hi

I am new on here and new to Genesis. I currently have a site with custom theme and would like to change it a little and use magazine theme.

I have a list of plugins that I would like to know if there is any issues with the plugins working on your theme. The plugins are as follows-

Contact form 7- Ok as I use it on another site with your theme
Cookie Control- Ok
Facebook for Wordpress-?
Google xml sitemap for images-?
Google xml sitemaps-?
mailchimp-?
Mappress Easy Google Maps-?
Meteor Slides-Will probably use your slide plugin.
PHP exec-not sure why thats there I will check with my dev
Post ratings-?
Simple Ads Manager-Works fine on another site
Simple rss feeds widget-?
Spammer Blocker-?
/wordpress seo Yoast-?
wp-jquery-lightbox-?
WP-PageNavi-?
WP SlimStat-?
WP Super Cache-?
WP to Twitter-?

If you could let me know of any better/replacement or not needed plugins that would be very helpful.

My site is www.shootreview.com and has been going for a couple years and getting reasonable traffic so I would rather not have to start again with it as I have a lot of content.

And if someone could point me to an "idiots guide to generate box".

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Mark

There's no way of knowing whether or not you will have conflicts with a plugin until activating the theme and the plugin.

And Magazine doesn't include a "generate box".

Thanks for the unhelpful reply. I realise that Generate box does not come with Magazine but it is available on the resources page. I was looking for a simple guide to installing and using it on another theme. I have searched the tutorials but cannot seem to find many actual tutorials.

If you could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated as I would like to get to grips with one or two more things before I go and buy the full package or any more of the excellent themes available. One of the reasons I payed for Genesis was the promised support .
Kind regards

Mark

Generate Box - tutorial.

Would this work for you?

Thanks thebluegger

I think I might have a go at that. It would be great for tutorials like that to be made for the resources on Genesis and put in tutorials part of the forum.

I will have a practise on a test site as like I said I am new to this and not great at coding. If you know of any other great simple to follow tutorials please let me know. I have multiple sites to build and a few to swap over to Genesis so all the help and advice I can get would be really appreciated.

Kind Regards

Mark

No worries Raykev,

They have quite a few tutorials in the forums, and in the Studiopress resources sections.

Also, there are a lot of tutes available on the net. Some users post their code snippets etc. If I find something that maybe useful to you, I'll post it. :)

http://www.briangardner.com/ Brian Gardner's site has a lot of useful code snippets and tutorials. Although, they are mostly related to, how he customized his personal site.

Some other sites I've stumbled upon:

designsbynickthegeek.com

genesistutorials.com

wpsmith.net

http://gregrickaby.com/

I'm sure there are loads more available. These are some of the sites that I've been to and remember at the moment.

Hope they are helpful. :)

P.S: Having a test site is a good idea.
